Haven't you asked yourseld if Bioware wants us to love forever Ferelden, because for me origin was the only title which totally caught myself... I mean it had an awesome soundtrack and the storyline spoke for itself...
Honestly I wasn't a fan of the sequel because of all the combat style changes(nevermind the storyline), but I still hope Bioware finds the Muse again....

I don't think we will see another Origins from them, but I really hope DA3 will be a return to form

I wouldn't say the combat in Dragon Age 2 was -that- bad, sure it had some negative points, but.. The thing which made -no sense- in DA2 imo was that when you killed an enemy with a bow and arrow, he'd just explode.
Anyway, enough about DA2. I don't think they'll make another origins, but.. We can only hope.

Well from what I can gather most of the community prefers the streamlining that Bioware tried with Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age 2 as for me... I don't like it, I prefer Character skill over player skill and the dice rolling in the background in Origins with awesome combat animations were fantastic for me, also the slow paced and more tactical combat of Origins allowed for better combat scenes and animations.
Bioware doesn't care for old-school RPGs anymore, they cater for a broad audience that just doesn't care for the same games that I like and I loved Origins on so many fronts and would love to see more of it but it's not going to happen. Dragon Age 2 became an action RPG with dialogue options like Mass effect 2 became a shooter with dialogue(with little to no RPG features), so DA3 will either be a better DA2 or as of the rumor, a Skyrim open-world/sandbox game.
If you ask me, I hope it becomes more like Skyrim and less like DA2.

There is one way to explain it away - remember the whole story of DA2 is being told to Cassandra by Varric, who is notoriously for using a little... creativity in his tales. So when your warrior is back-flipping in massive armour, or Qunari drop from the sky, or arrow-shot enemies explode, just think of it as Varric's little embellishments to make his story more exciting.

Think DAO was a one off mate, played it through so many times over the years, know what you mean about the sound track aswel
Everything about DA2 felt wrong for me, the combat was just so over the top.. only managed to get half way through it.
Trying again now like, got all the dlc for DAO/A DA2 and working through a perfect playthrough save to import into DA3 so who knows, second time round DA2 might turn out alright, heard good things about the dlc at least.

DA:O is the best Bioware game.
I liked it far better than Baldur's Gate 2. I think DA:O found just the place between old RPG and modern RPG.

I really think it will be some time before another game like Dragon Age comes around again. I love the origins: dwarf, elf or human. Mage, warrior, rogue. The variables are endless. Now it's about one set character, ripping off Mass Effect, and destroying the unique approach of DA:O.

Actually i think i prefer DA2's combat, at least some of it.
I hated the mage staff animation in Origins, and though it was horribly unrealistic in DA2 (Hawke looks like he's some uber spear wielder) i'd rather that to the pooping action in origins. I'm not sure about other classes in DA2 though, but most of the spells for mages feel better.
