A big thanks to everyone for their answers.

For those of you that feel IT would invalidate the current endings, you do know that the story of ME3... was just a story right? (those who have beaten the game should know what I mean)

I prefer creepy old man telling his kid about Shepard and his sex life more then what IT represents.

No. The Extended Cut was fine.

Also I can't believe people haven't moved on from the Indoctrination Theory yet.

This plus 1000.

Just a story? Super Mario Bros' story of rescuing the Princess from Bowser is what I'd class as "Just a story" with Mass Effect the story is the most important part of the package considering the games length.

And also what IT theory are you talking about cause the most popular one does indeed invalidate the current endings because it classes out Control and Synthesis as being "wrong choice endings" where the reapers win, where as Destroy is classed as being "just a dream" and shepard wakes up in front of the beam.

Seriously how the f*** does "just a dream" constitue better storytelling? It doesn't its perhaps the laziest cop out in writing in existance. This is why I hate the IT and why it should just stay as a "theory

No thank you. IT would just feel like a bad M. Night Shyamalan ending.

We don't need Bioware canonizing anyone's headcanon. There's no point in promoting "speculation" only to steal it away a few months later. Same reason why, if a sequel is made, NONE of the existing cast should feature in it.

Would anyone be interested? Yes, there are plenty of die-hard proponents of IT that would salivate at such a prospect.

Is Bioware ever going to do it? Without a doubt, never ever. While the endings are somewhat open to interpretation, Indoctrination Theory only works if you substitute headcanon for indisputable in-game "facts". Which is a long, polite way of saying, "it is almost as full of holes as it is full of ****".

Pointless discussion is pointless.

Would this proof IT?

Lots of polarizing views on this. Awesome.

As far as whether the IT DLC would "proof IT" Nitrocuban, ultimately... it'd just be a record that was once thought lost in time... and one more story about Shepard (you can always argue if it really happened or not).

Thanks again everyone for your responses, it was quite illuminating.

Whoa...I'm surprsed that people are lashing out like this over the Idoc theory. It's one thing to not believe in it but to actually trash people who choose to believe otherwise....seems like quite the overreaction.

Because it's completely irrational to believe in the IT. Why would BioWare expand on an ending if it was all a dream? The ending happened. That people are in denial about it does not mean that BioWare should cater to just those people who like to delude themselves.

Also... I don't see an Indoctrination DLC would work for either the people who take the endings at face value, or the people who interpret them otherwise... The DLC would upset both parties in my opinion...

If you interpret the ending as an Indoctrination attempt - then the "fun" is that you're not 100% sure of what reality is - what is a lie and what is real... what is reaper indoctrination and what really happens... Did you really make the right choice?

If you take the endings at face value, then such an DLC would completely undermine your interpretation of the ending...

A DLC like this would ONLY serve one goal. To have one part of the community scream "we were right" - and alienate the other part...

yes it is just a story. So why do ITers believe they need a new ending? Why so much fuss over the endings? Your statement is a contradiction to your cause.

Not really. With the EC BioWare told what they wanted to tell to everyone in their audience, whether they liked it or not. An IT DLC would cater to just a small part of the audience, by adopting what this small group came up with.
