I really like the silverback armor for Garrus in ME1. I was wondering where can you purchase it and do you need to be a certain level or can you buy it at only a certain time during the game? I realize its not the statistically best armor, but I like it aesthetically.

As I recall it just turns up randomly in shops and loot. It's available in all ranks so level shouldn't make a difference apart from what rank armour is likely to drop.

I see... Do you mean that certain armoured drop from certain ranks? (PS thanks for answering my question, I realize its a pretty particular question lol)

You've probably already realised some of this but I'll give a full explanation just in case. In ME1 weapons, armour and other equipment come in ranks 1 through 10, or actually I to X since they used Roman numerals for this. The higher the rank the better the item. Rank X armour takes more of a beating and has stronger shields, X bioamps give better biotic bonuses, X weapons means moar dakka dakka and so on. What rank items the game makes available either in shops or as loot depends on your Shepherd's level. It's all rank I, II and III stuff early on until you've got Shep up to level 15 or so, and similarly between level 50 and 60 it's all rank VII, IX and X. Some manufacturers' stuff and certain equipment is only available in certain ranks, e.g. armour piercing ammo only exists in ranks I-III and tungsten ammo only comes in IV-VII, which means you'll stop seeing any anti-armour ammo after you've levelled past the mid 40s or so. Because the Silverback armour you want is available in all 10 ranks you should find it, albeit at random, throughout the course of the game.
