people here always say the endings are the worst thing in gaming hsitory,  although I highly disagree (I can think of a few games from the mid-late 90s that were worse), it could have been way worse.

Example of a worse ending for ME3:

After fireing the Crucible big Letters appear on the screen saying "Simulation Completed", you then see Shepard exit a cryo pod, Anderson comes over and says "You did good son, welcome to N7".

This would have been much worse.

So just be thankful the ending was not as bad as that.

(P.S. I think the worst ending goes to "Outlaws")

Now if only the journal system wasn't one of the worst journal systems in gaming history...

That would have been better, even someone like you did a better job than Bioware.

No, because it meant nothing ever really happened.and LIs you had, every choice you made, every character you had met. none of it would have actually happened, nobody was real, it was all a big lie.

Now:

If only Tali, one of three most loved characters (according to fanbase) didn't recieve a cheap, badly photoshoped 5 minut work instead of a in game model...

If all ME2 squadmates didn't recieve a short end of a stick...

If the fetch quest were more like ME2 where you land and explore/fight/interact with something...

If...a lot of ifs.

Like harbringer says: This is what we face - ME3 was not what a lot of people wanted it to be.

That fixes all the plot holes.

I dare you to actually listen to the dialogue that Shepard has with the star child. Instead of just space barring through the entire thing, listen to what it says. Part of why the ending is so bad is because what the star child says completely retcons the Reapers, attempts to change the plot of the entire trilogy to its made up problem (synthetics cannot live side by side with organics) and makes a complete mockery of Shepard by forcing us to swallow the entire thing and 'help' the catalyst by picking 1 of 3 colors (I say 'help' because using the crucible does not even solve the catalyst's 'problem'), instead of stopping the Reapers from destroying us. THAT was our goal and it has NEVER changed. In additions, NOTHING the catalyst says even remotely makes sense. It's 1 big pile of varying degrees of nonsense.

That is why I think this ending is the worst ending in video game history. And this is in addition to all the other problems and downright dumb decisions in ME3. The journal, boring fetch quests, auto dialogue, shallow rpg elements, ME2 squadmembers being shafted... I could go on, but I think I'd rather stop here and keep the good memories I have of this trilogy - Mainly ME1 and 2.

Wow, people are saying a simulation would've been better. C'mon guys, you KNOW you would've been pissed if that was the real ending. You KNOW it. That would've literally been a complete waste of 100+
hours of gameplay.

I'm not sure I agree that it's the worst ending in gaming history, but anyway, I don't quite follow your logic: saying that it's the worst ending among the ones currently existing is different than saying that a hypothetical ending could be worse.

Just playing the not-quite-Devil's-since-I-still-dislike-the-endings advocate :-)

No, I do not think iot is the worst ending, I think it is entirely tolerable (I think the worst ending goes to an old PC game i got in the 90s).

I am just sayiong to those who act like its the worst, it could have been much much worse

And its still better than what we got.

Why?

Opens up for a new trilogy and plot right off the bat.

Second? Simulations are often times in sci-fi based on something real, just like writing. So all those people you met could be based off of real people so there's no guarantee that everyone would be fake, Anderson isn't as you've clearly demonstrated.

So yeah. Congratulations you did something better than Bioware even while trying to fail.

Just because its fake doesn't mean bad.

Just Look at

(SPOILER ALERT)

Big O.

Even if it was all a dream, it would have been better, because at least then it wouldn't have happened.

Better- Does not equal Good.

What we got in the original ending was so bad putrid roadkill outside my room would have been better.

I think they are in denial.

They know if it ended in a simulation the fans lashing back would be at least double of what it is now.

Just because your opinion is not an absolute truth, that doesn't mean everyone with a different one is in denial. Don't go the rout of Seival. Spare yourself the mockery.
