hey i just couldnt find enough info on these two spec's compared to each other,

So im having a hard time desiding on wich to pick as my second specialization, i have Berserk already.
So basically im a 2handed warrior mainly dealing damage.

i guess ill make Alistar a champion too, so i guess there will be 2 templars or 2 champions.

Greatly appreciiate any info given , Thanks ))

Champion is good for another knockback/knock down ability. I frankly never used templar stuff.

Templar's usefulness is limited. Since you seem to have Alistair as a primary party member, I'd suggest going Champion.

Yeah champion would work well with berserk too templar's are pretty much just mage slayers and champion can benefit party members near you so if your character and Alistair are running in and you have I think its the second talent active as well as your berserk buff(raises attack sorry forgot name) as well as indomitable you'll have a major bonus to attack and Alistair will benefit from your champion buff.

actually right now im using Shale as tank, but im thinking of switching as i go,since alistar will have pretty sweet equip after a while.

So far ive been tipping a bit towards Templar since it has a Aoe stun, and mental resistance, and the champion rally tallent ive heard Drains stamina which is a bit negative,

yeah well anyways stil cant fully make up my mind..)

Does rally drain stamina now? I thought it was a normal sustained ability, and as such one that is definitely worth having.

I can tell you that war cry when fully talented is an awesome ability. As the main damage dealer, my warrior would get surrounded, AoE as much as I could and then use war cry to avoid damage.

I know that templars seem like better mage killers, but I've actually had a lot of luck using war cry against enemy mages, probably because they have low physical resistance.

I made Alistair a Templar/Champion. When War Cry is not available and I desperately need to knock a lot of people down, I make use of Holy Smite. I don't feel ashamed that I put in a few points off Willpower since there are no decent Stamina Restoration available(unless you get the Stamina Potion Mod). Willpower also augments the Templar's 3rd Talent. I've also given him Juggernaut Set so he can dive in the midst of a battle. I'm quite pleased to see him resisting most spells and physical/mental resistance checks. Rally is a Maker sent for melee fighters since I made Leliana a Cun/Dex Bow Bard/Ranger. I replaced Morrigan with Wynne because I messed up with my talents on Morrigan(I intend her to be a good crowd control, but turned out I made a hybrid killer/disabling) and Wynne's healing keeps everyone alive. The only talent I didn't get on the Creation Tree is the last Glyph. Mass Paralysis(3rd and 1st Glyph) is pretty good.

Based on my experience, if you have 2 Shield based Warriors and 2 mages in your party, Just make sure that the two mages have stone Fist, one with Cone of Cold, and the two warriors with Overpower for an easy 4 Shatter kills. Great for rushing bosses since you take their minions out faster. I'm going to try with 5 shatter with A crit Ranger and Great Bear plus Shield Warrior and the two mages.

What are you lot talking about? Templars have a knockdown that's better than champions, as well as all the mage slayer abilities...

I admit, Holy Smite is better than War Cry but it costs way too much Stamina than War Cry. 70 vs 25.

Rally does drain stamina, which is a big negative for a two hand warrior.

However, War cry is just awesome. A -10 to attack for 20 seconds plus knockdown in a 10' radius. And it only costs 25 - barely more then pummel strike with a cool down of 20 seconds. The main bonus is the knockdown.

Holy Smite has a much smaller radius - 5', costs much more 70 and has a long cool down of 40 seconds. The damage is so so, but it is nice for the stun and knockdown.

Plus the save on War Cry is against your strength and the save against Holy Smite uses your willpower.  I hope your strength is higher then your will.  Posted Image

To me, Champion wins out simply because War Cry. The costs of Holy Smite is just too high when you need your stamina for two hand sweep and the sunder attacks.

i have 58 strenght and 33 willpower at the time, with equip, have spent some points in will since the berserker last skill is to drain all stamina and use it as damage, anyways i got pretty nice stamina regen, so still leaning a bit towards templar, Bah ! why couldnt someone just say that champions suck and id be over with this hehe, they seem so equally good, i am planing to give alistair Champion tho, wont the palladin skill help more on the damage dealing bit?

i also run around as secondary tank and kill off Mages when there leaning back whooping the Tanks ass, so thought that also would benefit...on the other hand war cry is also nice for crowd controll.. any last thoughts or input ? before i just pick in the blind ? thanks for all the feedback btw ))

humm i think ive made up my mind because of *Death Blow* which i havent trained in yet, with my stamina regen not being so bad as of now, as it is my next skill to train in, i guess this will make it worth my while ))

, if mana is the negative on templar, then i think i can bear it )

Thanks again everyone who has added to the Posts =)
