Hopefully, I have posted this in the correct forum after searching the forum here. Due to some errors on my part, I am trying to edit my character's attribute points. While I understand some may consider this cheating, it will certianly save me a lot of aspirin in the future.
I created the shortcut, and modified the path:
"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daorigins.exe" -enabledeveloperconsole
(Note: Windows 7)
I also left the key bindings as is, so I can use the ` key to enter the developer console.
After loading a saved game, I entered the ` key, and did notice that while typing:
runscript dbg_setattrib 1 20 (1 = code for Strength) (20 = character's strength value in game)
Nothing happened. No grabled letters, just characters freezing as I typed. I saved, rebooted, and the setting did not take place. So now I am wondering if I botched something, messed up the game, etc.
Sadly, I have no experience with CLI. Zip. Nada. Zilch. I am all about the GUI (to bad the editor/modifier were not in GUI form).
Any advice on how I can modify my character's value? Or suggestions what I did incorrectly?
Thanks.
Developer console. Yes, another frustrated user. :)

If your on the PC why not download one of the nifty repsec mods instead of trying to reinvent the wheel yourself? Nexus should have at least one, perhaps many versions of it.

Tetracyloide: Thank you for the insight. At the risk of turning red in embarrrasment, may I ask what a respec mod is? I assume a modifer? Sorry. New term to me. BG had Trainers or Editors.
Thanks!

the respec mod is usually on the front page of the Projects section if you check that out. it allows you to edit your characters attributes, skills and talents as you see fit.
