After looking online how UCCFNT behaves I still come up short on how exactly.  I always assumed the second action would not fire unless both conditions were met.  After doing some research for a nightmare run post 1.03 I found that it now behaves differently with rank as the second condition.

I'm led to believe that if the second condition is rank then that action will not fire unless both conditions are met.  However if the second condition is something other than rank the tactics will check to see if the second is true and fire that action regardless of the first condition.  This is odd as I have the current tactics set on Varric.

Enemy: Attacking Varric - UCCFNT
Hawke: Any - Back-to-Back

With this in place Varric doesn't willy nilly BtB to Hawke if he isn't being attacked.  This behavior contradicts what I was led to believe and I feel I am finding incorrect information.  If anyone can shine some light on how exactly UCCFNT interacts with the secondary condition it would be greatly appreciated.

short answer regarding tactics that do NOT involve rank

Enemy(any): attacking varric: uccfnt - This becomes the only condition in the set
Hawke: any: back to back - This becomes the sole action of the set if the condition is met.

having Hawke: any: make it a one condition tactic. you're just forced to do it this way because the code does not allow for anything else in order to accomplish this situational tactic set.

it is one of the few unique sets that behave like this because of the reduction of condiitons.
