I don't think, is possible to add Protheans to MP. Why ?

Lore reasons like, Javik is only living Prothean in current times in ME3.

Very likely is possible, to get Hanar or Elcor to MP, or new combinations for Salarians, Quarian Females, Turians Females, Krogan Females.

I doubt you read the whole thread at all.
Anyays someone already said in this thread that Bioware has stated that Eclor and Hanar will not be coming to MP, one can still wish but it would be really awkward.

Badassfully: Elcor first!

Only if they have sync-kill immunity. It would be ridiculous to see a Phantom gut it to death. Oh, and it needs a miniature Thanix canon attached to its back ^_^

Besides, you can't always please everyone.

Yeah, and there's no reason to please the people who want Protheans.

Indeed...

Javik is the last Prothian...

Deal with it...

Besides, BioWare have already said that they're not making anymore DLC for the MP...
Take the hint, it ain't happening...<_<

Isn´t it funny that about three days ago someone asked how long they will support MP and Bioware employee stated that as long as it is popular. So I´d like to see your source on this one.

well I got the same with Rachni and MP now.

Problem with Rachni is the idea of non-humanoid player models. Even Volus have a human-like skeleton, if only sized down.

The reason why people don't want Protheans is three, straw-logic reasons.
1) Protheans are either "special", or "so not special they got curbstomped by Reapers".
2) Javik saying he's the last Prothean, somehow it would lessen his character and/or the DLC
3) New Protheans would need a massive explaination by Bioware.

Counterarguments:

1) The whole point of Ilos in ME1 was that no, the Protheans aren't special in lore, just the last in the long line of victims of the Reapers. Last time I considered Protheans to be even remotely relevant to lore is either the Collectors, or the Crucible which, again, is from a long chain of Reapings. On the other hand, they are quite powerful Biotics and Soldiers, able to learn simply from touch, not to mention able to circumvent the Citadel rule on Cloning (I said enough about that last time). The potential, to have troops that wouldn't rebel like cloned Rachni did on Noveria, who hate the Reapers and who can learn instantly via touch has to be a HUGE advantadge, (sidenote, I seem to remember something about dinosaurs being cloned for mounts for Krogan soldiers... Maybe I'm going insane or it was a dream, but I have a feeling it's ingame. Anyway, this shows that they DO WANT to use cloning for shock troopers). Also, if they're from stasis pods, they'd likely be naturally inclined to fight Reapers, that's all they'd ever have known.

2) Firstly, I dont have the DLC, I watched all of Javik's lines and storyline, but don't consider it an "essential" part of ME3 for me. That said, they could easily add in lines with DLC into Javik's story, maybe even add in a scene in Singleplayer DLC where Javik happens upon a troupe of cloned/revitalised Protheans, but decided to stay with Shepard because he feels he can do more against the Reapers with Shepard, who managed to take down various Reapers, than with a group of fake/rookie Protheans. Of course, this should change the shard-activated ending to Javik looking forward to having some Protheans to return to after Earth. Maybe add some war assets, Prothean Squad, or something.

3) Again, either cloning or finding a caché of pods. Remember, you can bring a real Prothean into the Citadel, and everyone assumes it's genetically modified. Even after, he causes a local stirr, but I think the Galaxy doesn't take too much notice (correct me if I'm wrong). If we're talking about genetically modified Prothean-alikes, then there's no reason to make them public if they're bred specifically to be warriors. If they're true Protheans who woke from stasis, there's no gurantee they'd want to intigrate into a society they no longer recognise instead of devoting their whole being into destroying the enemy they knew for so long... Aka, Reapers, exactly like Javik.

4) Lore is flexible. Either ride atop of it, or be crushed beneath it.

I get it. You want Protheans. I'd want them, too. But asking for it is one thing, trying to explain why it is absolutely necessary to create Protheans characters for MP because "game needs moar new stuff" is only showing that you're selfish and ignorant by not taking the countless arguments against this idea into account and admitting that it is just something you'd love to have and not something that is logical and needs to be done.

Just to play devil's advocate, how exactly are we defining "logical and needs to be done?" Because honestly, the set of N7 humans didn't "need" to be done, nor was it a particularly logical expansion; I'm pretty sure we would have seen more of these badasses in the final mission (as an example) in SP if they had actually existed in canon. I'm not saying I'm against the N7 characters, but there has clearly been plenty of MP content retconned into the canon, so I don't see why retconning another Prothean stasis pod or two is so impossible and completely illogical.

This is a good summary of the arguments for Protheans. While I'm perfectly fine with people being against the Protheans' addition to MP (lots of people hated on the Volus too, and they turned out awesome), I just wish they'd admit that there ARE logical ways to include them.

Thank you <3

It's the same thing with the uproar against From Ashes, not because it was Day One DLC, but because it had a Prothean in it. People seem to think Protheans are these mythical beings who we should never see or hear, or that Javik MUST be the only Prothean in existence because, my guess, they paid for a DLC that said he was and they don't want to think they wasted RL money on lore (which is silly because he's a good squadmate himself, the MP Prothies could be just mere clones, Prothean in biology but not culture; and they had Javik as the only Prothean for 7 months.)

EDIT: I'm not saying Day One DLC wasn't an issue, but if it had been a human squadmate, like Vegas, I doubt the uproar would have been as prevelant.

This, not to forget Volus, they made "sense" too and we totally "saw" Volus on the battlefield just like we would Protheans.

Yeah I liked your post too and this post as well. I mean who cares about wasting IRL, it´s not liek you wouldn´t have done it anyways even if you´d know they would add them to multiplayer as no one knew how amazing MP was anyways so everyone thought only the SP DLC counts.

Thanks. To be honest, I knew MP was brilliant from the Demo, and that was before I knew of From Ashes. If I could have gotten it, I would, but I was lucky to even be able to get ME3 this year >.>

I think if they put protheans in the mp they should make them extremely weak against collectors as these would have been the reapers of the prothean cycle. In this way lore would be preserved and it would be cool as hell to give the protheans unique dialogue against collectors. 'For my ancestors!!' springs to mind.

...and after Protheans, we have playable "Cerebus controlled" Reapers*!

Brute (chargless vanguard but you're like the Hulk!)

Marauder (engineer that buffs allies in armor!)

Ravager (cloakless infiltrator but you get minions and can kill things stepping over your dead body!)

Cannibal (Soldier that can feast upon any dead for health regeneration!)

Banshee (Super annoying adept that will have your team mates screaming at you to pick a different character!)

Protheans would be fine for me. Javik may have been alone, but that doesn't mean he can't be cloned or others "found". The single player missions could be timestamped before all MP "campaigns" so the SP stays intact of the whole, "Javik is allllllllll aloooooooone".

True or Reapers as they lost to them in the first hand. Collectors have a lot of biotics though and the only Prothean we know is a biotic user so your statement would make a lot more sense. Also I like that dialogue suggestion, it would be awesome addition but I doubt they would do that, still we can wish they´d be this awesome.

This I did not even think about and this could work semi-well, if the MP happened before the SP moments.
Also love your reference, Javik is allllllllllll alooooooone XD

Well Bioware was not planning to put them in MP ever, Protheans have not been said about anything but even if they would add eclor and hanar to MP, it would be awkward at first, but very funny after that. Blasto for the win.

By that argument, they might as well use Protheans, because not only do Protheans have combat animation data ingame, but story-wise they could easily have been introduced via the methods I stated earlier....

...

You did read the thread, right? Or at least, the last page, where I explicitly say cloning is a viable option.....

Indeed, Biotics are their "hat", or the thing that defines their race, moreso than the Asari...

And there's the added bonus that, if Protheans are caster classes (Adept, Vanguard, Sentinel and maybe Engineer), then the Collectors will be pretty tough for them to take down, adding a nice lore bonus (Collectors being created to prevent the Prothean's using their strengths, their biotics, by cooldown jamming and being immune to some biotics).

ah feck it. throw em in.. then we can move onto trying to get Bioware to add the Elcor/Hanar & Rachni.
