Worse. They are completely inept at combat. The only source of them being in combat were as AUXILARY troops. This does not justify them being a burden with the best of the best in N7 Spec ops missons.


Furthermore, having a dozen Protheans will not bring the race as a whole back to life. Protheans will STILL BE EXTINCT.

Volus are the worst thing in this game and there is only one Prothean as far as Javik knows. What we know is that the Reapers completely cut off communication throughout the Prothean empire and the war raged for over a hundred years. Javik is a warrior, not a scientist, in actuality he knows very little about what happened and there could be more out there just like him. Very plausible.

Volus are inept at combat, and do not belong with the best of the best the alien races have to offer(N7 spec ops)

Javik is the last known Prothean. Hence the word KNOWN. BioWare EXPLICITLY stated this on the promotion for Javik's dlc. KNOWN. BioWare as any business are very selective of their choice of words. 


Based on this there are a few scenarios that are reasonable thanks to the abundant lore of Mass Effect. 

Cloning/bunker/stasis are all subjects that can prelude to a multidue of ways a dozen Protheans can be added. 


A dozen is all that is needed.

Protheans will still be extinct. Javik's story is untouched.

I always thought playing a volus would be funny, but I picked up Mass Effect: Infiltrator a few days after the volus were initially leaked, and there's a volus in that game that helps you accomplish your mission. Besides the Vader-esque breathing, I actually took him very seriously as a character. He was very good about... supporting me. Then when all of the volus threads popped up, I stated my opinion on the matter after learning from this game what I learned.

Agreed... to an extent. I also welcome Leviathan controlled Collector thralls. 

In contrast to Protheans, Collector thralls are 100% lore justified thanks to Leviathan dlc. There is zero arguement about this. 

I would welcome them as an alternative... However I will continue to entertain the possibility of Protheans as they can work.

I was here when the forums raged over Volus, it was nasty. Yet, like children on a tantrum, they finally accepted it and moved on with their lives.


They can pout as much as they please, there will be no division.

Yes. I like that the MP fleshes out the universe, because that was always my favorite part about playing these games. I never accepted that Volus are all incompetent, Batarians are all slavers etc. And I appreciate that the MP shows all of these races fighting Rippers together, something I think was sorely missed in the SP. That's why it bothers me when people claim that the lore doesn't matter in MP. The lore is what made me play MP in the first place and I think that's the same for a lot of people.

I guess it's a good thing that I made an entire thread detailing an abundance of lore friendly ways to introduce playable Protheans. A way in which does not utilize space magic, or bring the Prothean race back to existance. 

Thanks to Mass Effect's lore on technology and possibility, Protheans can work. Amazing isn't it?

I'm sure humans felt very uneasy with backs against a Geth/Batarian.  Mootless point.


I'm not too keen on Maruader's, but I can accept them. 


Collectors on the other hand will only be a problem if there are already playable Protheans...


I have a feeling it will be one or the other. Until one is announced, I will fight for both nonetheless.

I do not feel like there is any "lore-friendly" way to introduce Protheans into MP. All I see are a bunch of retcons and logical fallacies. I don't even understand why people would want Protheans in the first place, tbh. There are already so many characters to choose from, many different playstyles, powers and builds to explore. And probably more on the way, ones that don't violate existing lore. There's nothing lacking in MP by excluding Protheans. Except an unimpressive character model. Javik doesn't even have a tight ass.
