My Pro-thean thread? You've posted in it numerous times? We have discussed this before...
N7 ops are not the frontline. Engine limitation or not, it is lore justified by being called N7 operations.
How you are gathering the idea of this meaning front-line of all things is beyond me.
The secrecy, urgency, and direct communication from Admiral Hackett all point to this being a special operation consisting of the best of the best.
Prothean avatars/clones/whatever fit this bill.
"Every kit we can play now comes from a faction/species whose number we don't know. We just know that that number is really large..."
Just because there is a pattern does not confirm it as definitive fact. Exceptions can be made, and reasonably so.
Dude. Relax. I know this is BSN, but we can have a civil argument without resorting to insulting each others' intelligence.
I don't remember the exact words you used in your Pro-thean thread which I'm sure was pages long; without a link, I can't be sure that I read it. Not only that, it's probably weeks old. I make multiple posts here everyday. You can't expect me to remember them all.
OT: I think you're wrong. That every kit we play is representative of a much larger facton is too logical for there to be any room for exceptions. This way, they need not explain what happens were an operative to die/not extract (something I'm sure no one's even thought about). With such a large number, they also don't need to explain why there are multiples of the same kit in one match. I think this pattern was deliberate. Why should Protheans be an exception to a pattern that every (I can't stress the word "every" enough) kit follows? What's more damning, imo, is that they would be the
only possible species to break this pattern, being extinct and whatnot. Their number actually matters, and if so few were brought in, wouldn't they be instantly important to the lore? I can't imagine everybody being ok with sending x number of the most important individuals in the galaxy off behind enemy lines. Other kits, because of the large force/race they represent, are expendable. Protheans with knowledge of the Reapers are not. I'm willing to listen to reason, but I think this is a pattern too important to overlook.
Side note: Protheans? Best of the best? You did see that video of them shooting their PPRs, right?
