I was just referring to the claim that they are "impossible" to bring back, which I still believe is false. However, I now see that your view is not that Protheans are "impossible", but that they're "not currently possible", which I can respect far more.
It is refreshing to see someone who doesn't identify as Pro-thean to actually be open to expansion of the lore and inclusion of Protheans under logical and lore-consistent means. Though I do have to say that I don't think that using the anti-Prothean label is appropriate for you, as I've seen my share of that group and their posts on the subject mostly consist of "No" or "Ur stoopid 4 wntin Amateur-theans, trololololol". To use the anti-Prothean label is an insult to your position and is not properly recognizing your reasoning. I would suggest referring to yourself as something more suitable, like "Pr-open-thean" or "Airlock-Curious"; a new title would provide a better summary of your view and not group you in with the degenerate crowd that is associated with anti-Protheans.
I would also like to apologize for the needless conflict that arose from our conversation. Had I recognized your position from the beginning, our exchange would not have gotten as heated as it did. I appreciate your openness and I'm glad to see that there are people on the BSN who aren't needlessly stubborn in regards to Protheans.
Wow, umm... thank you. That actually means a lot to me to hear that. Thank you.
(I'm honest to God being sincere when I say that.)
I guess I'll take the time to apologize for pairing you with the "ending sux therefore Protheans are pawsible" group (which sadly, does in fact exist...). I'm definitely glad to have met on a more neutral ground. I hope there aren't any hard feelings between us, and at the very least, there are none on my part.
EDIT: Oh God, that just sunk in. Airlock Curious?! XD
I am sincere as well. It is depressingly rare to encounter someone on the BSN who isn't so strongly opinionated that they refuse to budge an inch on their position. I can hardly remember the last time I had a conversation here that did not end with enhanced levels of stress.
I can understand the mistake. The labels of Pro-thean and anti-Prothean can lead to certain assumptions that can sometimes be wrong and it happened to both of us here; I assumed that you were among those who refuse to have a logical, reasoned discussion on the subject and cling to the lore without acknowledging its dynamic nature and you assumed that I was among the crowd who don't care about the lore and just wanted Protheans regardless of the consequences. Having a nuanced opinion on the topic is crucial to getting anywhere and I think that this is a great step in the right direction.
No hard feelings intended. We both made mistakes, but we've seen the errors of our ways and are better people for it. I view this exchange as a Krogan-esque bonding experience; we butted heads and got heated, but now that its over and we recognize each other's views, we can respect and admire the other's tenacity. All that's left is to go hunt a Thresher Maw (though I'm not quite sure how that could fit into the analogy

).
PS: I'm quite fond of the term as well
