It's not fun. It was never designed to be fun. I guess calling it a game is really a misnomer. I loved it because it was an experience unlike any other 'game' I've played.

I guess it's pretty self indulgent artsy fartsy stuff but I'm a sucker for interesting stuff.

worst game i played in 2009 was probably modern warfare 2, but i did not actually buy that one, my brother did. I cannot think of any 'bad' games i bought in 2009 so i will take his :P

for a few hours of real gameplay It really felt like a patch or expansion rather than a full priced game. The single player was so short it was disgraceful.

The campaign in MW2 was not that short.  As long as you didn't sprint through it as fast as you could, it should have taken about as long as any other shooter.

You're kidding? I returned Prototype after 3 days. I thought Infamous was 100 times better.

Its our first interweb fight

Let's not  forget the better storyline, better graphics, better multiplayer, oh, and that it is a better game all around, but other than all that, yeah, it's pretty much the same game.

Like I said, Madden Football approach. It's what made shooters stale in the 90s too, update the graphics, add some new modes and maintain the "Kill'em all" approach to an saddly predictable plot. There was only one "twist" I didn't seem coming from a mile off and thats who the prisoner you rescue was.

And the multiplayer is only better if you like you match making even worse than it was in cod4

Infamous was good, but I feel like overall they were very similar games, with Prototype winning my favor with a way more powerful 'hero.'

Lol our first fight. Never!!

It seems that which you liked better, Infamous or Prototype depends on which one you picked up first.

I loved Infamous but Prototype made me want to claw my own eyes out.

I had Infamous first, too, though. It came out first didn't it?

Mass Effect = bad game of the year for 2009

Modern Warfare 2 = good storyline ?

You know I can see why Mass Effect was disappointment, but when you said Modern Warfare 2 had a good storyline, that just invalidated anything you had to say.

I wasnt fond of the control scheme in Prototype. Plus the way he ran up the buildings. I liked his weapons and powers, but it just played choppy to me.

Infamous flowed so smooth. (((Wooooaa naked stuff on HBO!)) and i loved the story.

I may give Prototype another shot on of these days

Infamous wasn't really challenging to me. Like Prototype was.

I'd have to say for me, it was the remake of The Bard's Tale. Once I discovered it was a console game, ported over to the PC, complete with save points, I never played it again.

****ty little 360 shooter called Section 8. Went into it expecting it to suck monkey ass. It did. Rather replay one of my old favourite original Xbox games.

I'd have to say Mirror's Edge(PC). I hate this game with a passion.
Whoever thought that it was a good idea to do a free running game in first person was wrong.
This year was actually quite good for the most part.

Call of Duty: Madden foo... I mean Modern Warfare 2

Gave me flash backs to late 90s shooters. "The last game was a hit? Great! Release it again with new guns!"

Better storyline... If by better you mean requiring that all participants in the storyline having IQs of around 90 and the US mysteriously losing it's satellite capability, as well as all civilian guns vanishing from ownership in the US and the Russian KGB being made fools of in HUMINT, then I suppose it was better.

The worst game of 2009 was Borderlands for the PC, not because the game was bad but because the netcode was apparently programmed by a 5 year old. When you have to run Hamachi to run the damn multiplayer, there's a problem.

Not necassarily the worst game but it WAS my biggest dissapointment of the year...Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. Anyone else play it? It was ok from a tactical shooter standpoint but it was too buggey and the AI were like superhuman, entirely too smart. They literally shot(and sometimes killed you) from almost a mile away...insane!!!

I agree, i couldn';t play that game by myself, i had to persuade two of my friends to buy it just so i could finish the campaign... Huge potential, could have been a COD rivaler if it wasn't for all the bugs, but i'm still not picking it up again.
Funniest thing about that game is if one of your friends is injecting you (healing you) and you patch your wounds at the same time, they can't move after you finish...Good way of annoying randoms on your team Image IPB

Strange, I played Borderlands exclusively in multiplayer since the day of release and it worked fine.
