i don't always play gold, but when i do...

i'm tired of being the only person who gears up and spends consumables.  i'm tired of the three other people going to the far corners of the map (and dying) every wave.  i'm tired of  people who join a lobby with three biotics and play a tech class.

since i spend three level 3 consumables pretty much every time i play gold, it's pretty lousy to get one of these fail groups.  i've never friended or played friended games, but aparantly that's how you avoid this nonsense.  if you want to friend for games, post or pm me.  (also, explaining how to friend would be nice too, since i'm not sure)

me: uses gear and consumables
coordinates class powers and play style for synergy
playes without a mic on pc
plays gold half the time and silver the other half, so semi-skilled
has no epeen agro or envy
lives in southern usa (for ping purposes)
wants to play occasional gold games with people who don't totally s*ck

you: don't totally s*ck (if you're reading this, i'm sure you're good)
use consumables when necessary
play pc and don't mind that i'm not micced
may or may not be highly skilled, but can actually play gold with whatever class you show up to play with
thinks that occasional faliure to extract is ok, but faliure to try or intentionally being carried is never ok
lives proximate to southern usa (for ping purposes)

hit me up  :)

edit: origin id "paincanbefun"

When I created my account a joined the multiplayer forum to avoid always having to play with crappy teams, I had to take the initiative to add players instead of the other way around. As far as anyone reading this knows, you may as well be another random.

That being said, I guarantee you'll get more responses if you post your gamertag/origin id/psn, N7HQ, join one of the many groups for multiplayer, or start sending out friend requests to players on the forum instead of setting a prerequsite demanding the player not "totally suck" and then asking them to add you.

I'll add you if you let me know your origin ID:

Or you (and anyone posting in this thread if they please) can add me:

Origin ID: ISHYGDDT

I'm in the midwest, on at night usually.

To add friends, just go to Origin, click on your name (in the upper right corner of the screen) it will take you to your profile. Then look for the search toolbar (also in the upper right corner of the screen.) Search for the Origin ID you want to add and it will take you to their profile, there will be an option to send a friend request right below their picture.

I'm a little bothered by people instantly quitting the moment they see it's a hazard map or Geth. That's about it though.

totally.  thank you.

i guess my origin id is "paincanbefun" since that's what it says in origin next to my avatar.

i'm NOT an amazing elite player, by the way.  i don't do platinum.  i just want to avoid the 50% of gold pugs with people who either don't belong there or aren't trying.  but thanks for the advice, and i will start sending friend invites too.

I know your pain, not playing Gold too often but when I do, I gear up with the best consumables and mostly take my N7 Destroyer to tackle the enemy so I expect others taking on gold difficulty doing the same with some medi-gel to survive the onslaught and not afraid to use their missiles against 3 Banshees.

Not using the mic either, something wrong with it, people telling me to shut it off

People tend to immediately leave the game more often for me when it comes up Collectors.

Haven't noticed that. But I expect one or two people to instantly quit if Geth pops up. Luckily the system will replace them by wave three usually.

Playing with a full group of people from the forum is generally the complete opposite of pugs. Instead of having to carry the game you may struggle to find enough to kill.

Out of a straight dozen good gold pugs, I just had to exit ME3 after just 2 terrible games. Team mates don't want to use equipment, don't want to use consumables, don't want to help upload or hack after I continuously tell them over the mic to get over here, just absolutely terrible. I understand that people are transitioning over from silver, but if you don't even bother trying, you should never play gold. Period.

If they look bad, I just leave the game instead of kicking them most of the time.
That way.. bad players will end up together in a game instead of keep searching for new game to crash.

Honestly, that depends on where you look. There are players of all skill levels on the forum... although the game has been out long enough now that what you said is true more often than not. Usually the people who care enough about a game to register their copy to post on the forum tend to be better.

If the last enemy is a Scion I usually run up to him and try to get sync killed.

Because I believe in my PUGs.

When there are 3-4 good people in one lobby on gold, the game gets seriously boring, fast. Espically when people aren't that talkative. Feels like im playing Diablo 3 again. (That game puts me to sleep.)

Yeah, I've been skipping gold matches unless 2+ people have consumables equipped. Otherwise it's too painful.

Welcome to the Legion Effect! The best way to get a game going with a fellow legion member is to hop onto the IRC channel. #TheLegionEffect under the QuakeNet network.

Hope to see you on the battlefield
