Why do people hate the Dwarf commoner origin?

Honestly, I can't dissagree with the Dalish Elf origin being pretty lousy. Having to visit the same dungeon twice, hardly any interesting characters, etc.
The Dwarf commoner origin was pretty good though I thought. Leske was a great character, the proving was a great scene that had me at the edge of my seat when the main character was asked to take his helmet off, and the antagonists in the Dwarf commoner storyline like Jarvia were truly despicable. I went to Ostagar really excited to get back to Orzammar to settle the score.
The Dwarf Noble origin is still better, but the Dwarf Commoner Origin I still thought was very good.
Favorite origins from favorite to least favorite in my opinion were.
1.Human Noble
2.Dwarf Noble
3.Dwarf Commoner
4.Mage
5.City Elf
6.Dalish Elf.

The only one that fell flat was the Dalish one, which has been dissected to death. Other than that, it's a 5-way toss up for me.

I do love playing a mage. First game where I prefer it to playing my normal fave calss: rogue.

in a game like the elder scrolls oblivion there were alot more races, but in this game there are 3 and it just so happens that the 2 best romance options for a male NPC are human (Leliana and Morrigan).
me being a dwarf and romanceing them just seems laughable, especially in the cutscenes when your about 2 foot shorter lol
same with the elf really, the best character romance options are human and i much prefer it to be a same race romance, a human and a dwarf i can't take seriously.
each to their own i suppose but i much prefer human and its the only race i use on DA.

The ending.. it's so sad. Especially if you really explore the dialogue choices with your keeper. And realize that you're screwed, you're probably going to die in an extremely terrible way, and this human is hiding something from you that could mean your life. And everyone is so concerned for and sad that you're leaving, you can see that in the ending. It's a sense of unity you don't get in many of the other origins.
Though not going back to it is kind of disappointing

I however felt that since the main story has to do with a blight in a human land, if you play any other origin, its ties to the overall main story did not feel as deep as the human origin did. As another origin, I always felt as an ally who helps the humans. It didn't feel as personal to me.
That is however an entirely siubjective thing.

And I agree -- the Provings scene where you do the big reveal was the best Duncan moment. It really felt like he wanted you for your skills instead of him just conveniently around to rescue you when you fall into misfortune.

Because they're not human. Dirty, stinking, xeno-scum.

I didn't particularly hate the dwarf origins, although I have barely finished the noble one, and had only finished the Commoner once. Then I broke my game with the toolset and before I found out I could fix it, I had deleted them all and uninstalled the game. But that was because I didn't want to come here, and get spoiled, and I knew I would if logged into the forums.

I liked them all, even the Dalish one. It was less dramatic than some of the others, but it was the only one where I felt my character had a place, fitted in, was valued and liked for who and what they were. The next closest in that regard was the Human Noble. In all the others, the character is a victim in some way or other, to varying extents. So it was the only one, again, other than Human Noble, where there was any pathos in leaving it behind. For all the others, they're better off as a Grey Warden.
Agreed! I liked them all, all great, But for someone used to play an elven archer for some 5 years on NWN mplayer... it is an awesome origin!
