Personally i think you should "get over it" :D

If you can't take criticism (constructive or not) and complaints in a gaming forum, I'm afraid you're in for a rough ride :D

Eh? I never said I can't "take" them. Sometimes peoples' complaints really ARE for a good reason. A GREAT example of this is the new Diablo 2 patch. There is much justified whining about it on the PTR forum. For me, there was never anything to get over to begin with. I'm not one to judge a game or the choices a company made for their game. If I see any really serious problems, then I will voice my opinion and hope people agree so that perhaps it will push the company to do something about it. Perhaps the only problem I see is restrictive party choices (there are too many presets for characters, it would have been enough if they joined at your level with unassigned stat, skill and talent points reflective for what level they join, instead of having so many of those chosen for you to the point where it becomes a hindrance as to what direction you want to take them in, but that is what the respec mod is for so I'm not complaining :D), and very basic tactics commands that are missing, in my opinion, some critical features (combined conditions, specific party member being surrounded, being able to use a beneficial item based on a monster's rank, etc., however, there is I believe a mod for this as well, and this is also why pausing is there). So, overall, I don't think I have any complaints at all. It's a solid game. Everyone else can think what they want, I don't really care, but I have a real pet peeve about people talking about things without informing themselves about what they're talking about (in this case, Arcane Warriors using magic to satisfy equipment requirements, which can be found out in about 30 seconds on google). My stance has always been that if you're going to say something, inform yourself about it first before you say anything.

Given that's it's fantasy and not "reality" yanno.

That statement is absolute RUBBISH and I can't STAND it. That's fanservice and absurdism, NOT fantasy.

"fantasy" as the word itself says, is subjective. I'm sorry you can't stand it, but that's your problem, not mine :D

@jareklajkosz  This is a "discussion forum" not a "discussion forum only for the educated and learned".  Arcane warriors are hybrids, not true warriors, and looks like quite a few would like to be able to play with a female with a warrior background and full feature as a companion. I see nothing wrong with expressing such sentiment. This kind  of threads are IMHO pretty useful to Bioware, because they aren't just complaints, they include suggestions and ideas that they can use in future expansions and DLCs.

You don't need to unlock it in the game to look it up on Google. :D

But seriously, the amount of complaining about this game is staggering. It is a good, terrific game that is actually quite realistic in most cases for the choices it gives you (going a bad route is more profitable but few people like you whereas taking a moral stand on issues garners you respect but not coin, in many cases), with my only gripe being how many characters "forget" your actions for the sake of advancing the plot, which sort of tones down the novelty of actually BEING a chaotic character, so to speak. However, I can see why this is the way it is.

As far as the lack of female warriors and whatnot, all I can say is just get over it. There is a reason that you can create your own character with whatever gender you wish without any penalties. So far I am now playing my third female character, and eventually I plan to play a female warrior, female arcane warrior, etc. etc., there's so much replay value in this game. And if you're STILL not happy with everything, well, then make your own mod! That is why it's there. I am personally fine with the class/gender assignments that your party members got, although I DO think that the party you can create is very restrictive if you don't play as a tank or a healer because of the precious few choices for those two roles. Either way, though, point is, instead of whining about it why not just make some constructive criticism on the forums, hope you get some momentum from other users supporting you can maybe Bioware will act on your suggestion in future content. :D

That's what this thread is trying to do. Did you even read the OP? Nobody's claiming the game sucks because it lacks a recruitable female Warrior. It's just something we noticed and would like to change, hopefully in the Awakening expansion.

Why would one have to "get over it?" Remember that constructive criticism is what makes games better. No one here is saying "the game is sucky because we don't have an heabvily armored female warrior". It's more of a suggestion for the future than a "oh my god bioware you sexists!"

And by the way, i don't know about you, but not everyone goes around googling every single aspect of a game before playing.

When I was little a switch on my control board got permanantly stuck to "sarcastic" but...I have to agree that constructive criticism makes a product better.  I think my favorite beta reader is my little brother, who's the harshest critic in the world.  Nothing beats little notes like "Why would you write this?  This is incongruous to the story and biased."  So, I suppose, in the land of my people concrit is only worth giving to people you believe capable of improving.  I don't exactly sit around on Blizzard forums complaining about the plot and narrative integrity of WoW...

The issue's not that the game is sexist. It certainly isn't. It has characters that are sexist, which is certainly a good thing for a complex story and world, but that's not the issue. Some of us just like the female warrior aesthetic and think Dragon Age should let us have one. I would have preferred a female Qunari to Sten, for instance.

This :)

DA is not sexist. Are there characters who comment on gender? Yes, and that's great! NPCs should have opinions. Bioware did an awesome job and raised the bar again. :)

The original remark is towards a desire to see a female beatstick as a party member. There is, sadly, not a wide cast of *tough* warrior women in the fantasy genre. Not every fantasy world is geared towards allowing such a character, but DA is. It would just be nice to see a female tank for once (that's a female tank who is still in a squishy body, Shale lovers :D ). I believe Bioware could do this well. :)

And that's exactly the reason to make one, non? :D

I'm holding my breath for the expansion, even if to be honest i'd be more interested in a companion that you can play through the main game :D
