Lobby Etiquette

The one I hate the worst is when you go into a lobby, equip your consumables, go ready, and wait, and wait, and wait, and then the host leaves. This pisses me off to no end, because then you have to go back into character, and take off your consumables, search for another lobby and then put them back on again.
Another would be playing radio/tv loud in the background when you have your mic on.
Anyone else have anything to add?

Happened to me yesterday, just finished a match and as we landed back in the lobby, there was a new player there who did what I just described above. Didn't even get to finish putting on my ammo, weapon mods before he quit the lobby.

People that equip mics, but don't bother replying when you try to start a conversation. Kinda irks me. Seems as though they're just eavesdropping.
The inequities of the average slob that frequents the public lobby only begins at the awkward communication skills and ends at the last lonely tissue in the box.

On the PC at least, you don't necessarily have to have a mic for that icon to show it being enabled. Even if one doesn't use their mic, it's always good to have VC enabled because you can still receive strategic information from others during the match, and I don't mind taking orders from a capable squad leader without the ability to reply.
If it bothers you, just don't talk about private stuff in a public lobby. (I know that's not what you said, I'm just trollin')

For really new folks, I am more forgiving, since going to the store at that point can yield some significant upgrades, plus they probably have not figured out yet how long they are making others wait. I have less patience with folks who've played the game for a while, they should know better.
The other extreme is the person that wants everyone to ready up naoooow. If a person is slapping on ammo and amps or making a weapon/character swap, I have no problem waiting. I wish we could see that someone is making changes, other than when the final change takes place. There are some sound cues, but it is hard to tell if someone is scurrying to make changes or leisurely taking a dump.

This x100000. Seriously. Kinects have a "mute chat" feature...please use it. I don't want to hear the soundtrack of your life, haha.

If you have your kinect plugged in, even if it's muted, it shows up as you having a mic.

Edit - and I agree on Kinect mics, although I have met one cool person who sounded fine and I didn't find out until later they were using Kinect.

Sometimes they'll be stuck from a previous match in the "Waiting for other players" screen of annoyance.

After three rounds of bleeding ears and nicely asking to turn off Kinect-
Me: "Xbox: Open Tray. Xbox: Open Tray. Xbox: Open Tray."
xXxKinectxXx*: "What are yo-?.... OH SH-"
xXxKinectxXx has left match.
Random Other Guy: "Oh, thank god that's over."

The icon can lie and say a person has a headset on when they really don't. Personally I have a turtle beach headset and even when I leave it off it says I still have it on because it reads the wireless transmitter plugged in the back. Plus sometimes I will be in private parties or use my headset as a bluetooth on my phone so I will be on the phone while playing through the headset.
Eavesdropping can happen without a headset though. The voices can be played through the speakers.

Why do the 13 year olds always talk to themselves and yell obscenities? I've dropped into a couple of lobbies and have heard this happening and left as soon as I realized this.

This is why PTT was invented.

More OT: what the OP said. Also, sitting in a PUG (not private lobby), not readying up, not saying anything, not changing your loadout, for five minutes...then when we finally have a full group and everyone else is ready, leaving.

Just because I have a headset doesn't mean I'm there to sate your social needs. I'm there to play a game, not talk to you.
It's funny, cause it annoys the hell out of me when people try to START a conversation with me.
I use my headset for tactical needs/putting the noobs straight.

I was searching for a plat PuG, and dropped in on what seemed to be a couple of 13 year olds on Rio/Reapers ofc. (complete with terrible loadouts and N7's at around 60) One of them seriously asked me "Can you stasis a brute?" My mic must've been on for some reason because i burst out laughing and left the lobby, only to recieve a message saying "noob" about 20 seconds later.
