Prequel, because they will inevitably go with Synthesis as canon, or they will be forced to really, really, really, downplay the effects of what synthesis did so that the workload is cut down.

After the amount of lore contradictions we saw in that 2 minutes clip of Paragon Lost, that gives me even more reason to hope they don't make a prequel.

Maybe he should ask whether we would prefer a crappy, "romance" filled story line full of contrivances, retcons and bull**** or a story written by competent writers.

Well, then again, the community seems to prefer the former, so perhaps not.

Sequel. No questions. They can can continue to do prequel stuff in other media.

I kind of think they should just leave the Mass Effect trilogy as it is and not do any Mass Effect sequels. Prequels wouldn't be interesting because whatever you'd be fighting in a prequel would not reach the same magnitude as the Reapers. Also there would be a lot of variables to account for from the original trilogy so some things would be half-assed.

Prequel. I'd like the next Mass Effect to not be focused on humanity as much with a main character chosen from a selection of races and not just human. There doesn't have to be a catastrophe that threatens the entire galaxy and every sentient in it to be a good story. Even the death or savior of a system of planets would be an epic story for a hero if set around the time Admiral Anderson is a spectre candidate.

I think a poll for something like this would've been a good idea.

Sequel btw, let Bioware revisit the lore they've created again and push it forward/clean it up. I think Mass Effect as a narrative has some honor to regain and a standard to return to (with regards to their ending quality).

I'm all up for a sequel but I thourght Casey said he wasn't going to go forward.

If it's going to be a prequel, I want to play as the bad guys, preferably, Cerberus. During the invasion cycle.

Or maybe during the Prothean Vs Reaper war.
Play as Javik.

I already tweeted him that i want to see a sequel. Push the series forward, where there's more legroom to expand the universe and it's lore. I want to see new races join galactic civilation, technology that's advanced even further, new characters, etc.

I agree that a sequal would be better than a prequel. A prequel no matter how good (or bad) is, it's always a story I already know how it ends, and I would have no reason to play it.

Sequel all the way.

I don't want to play an squirmish like First Encounter War, I know its ending and it had a laughable scope.

I want mistery, discovery, a noir novel in space, that was the strenght of Mass Effect trilogy.

And a tale about humanity, nothing of all that different races bull****.

It's hard to know if asking peoples opinions actually matters, or whether it was just to make more people likelier to buy the new dlc. I hope they have listened though. If they make a prequel, then they would clearly have not listened.

I know this isn't popular but there is one get out for BW with regards to sequal (my vote). Something like the indoctrination theory, except it does work and ends at the Illusive Man and the rest is death throws of Shephard. While half the fan base would poke their eyes out with sticks for doing it, afterwards, the game would be better for it. It would be much easier to make a sequel this way and they could spend less time trying to tie up loose ends and just get on with making a good game.

Definitely a sequel... perhaps set a couple hundred years after the events of ME 3. And it would be really cool if we could be races other than human, too.

Prequels? Nope... *cough Star Wars cough*

i want a sequel. and if they don't stick a giant ass statue of shepard or a giant mural of all the squad members you had either on earth or the citadel there will be hell to pay. also make it like dragon age origins with different origin stories for multiple different races and classes.
