people seem to Forget Bioware didn't have to Release the EC
I guess it shows how much profit they would have lost had they not.
Can you imagine the reaction to people playing Leviathan if there was no EC?
Leviathan without the EC would have given sufficient explanation of the Catalyst, the Reapers, and the purpose of the cycle. However it would have left the actual results of the ending up to wild interpretation, which is an artistic decision and can be seen as both good and bad.

if being nominated means nothing....why are you making a post in a thread related to it?
and WTF do you mean by YOU PEOPLE?
Passing the time until I can go home really.
Why is it that when people respond on these things you people assume it must be an extremely important aspect of their lives?
I swear...You people. Ugh

No, it isn't sufficient explanation at all. It's retroactive foreshadowing. A sign of terrible writing.
It's not terrible writing when any explanation beyond what we were given in the original endings is unnecesarry to the story or the gameplay or anything of real importance, beyond curiosity.

The Game of the Year usually isn't a game that was so controversial it needed it's own frigging DLC to stop it's fans flipping out.
you kidding? "FANS" were flipping out even before the game came out...AND THEY ARE STILL flipping out.
REAL FANS Know that you aint a REAL FAN unless you irrationally flip out ABOUT EVERYTHING!

This game is a letdown, it barely changed anything. Was 343 too scared to do change?

yup..he said it and i totally agree....ME3....BEST VIDEOGAME experience i have ever had....cept for the last 5-10minutes...which was fixed with the EC. a lot of people LET the pre-EC ending(s) ruin their entire ME....which is extremely sad and petty imho.
And who are you to proclaim this? Let people have their opinion. ME3 was inferior to the other games in the series. So much lack luster in the second half it was not fun. No exploration, Lack of roleplay options. Forced plotline and Cerberus made into a Star Wars villian organisation.
Real "fans" will not take anything, they will tell what is wrong. Not just sit there and nod. Seriously, stop thinking being a "real fan" means you love everything.

Mass Effect 3 better than Halo 4. Child please.
Assassin's Creed III ****s both of them sideways.
This makes me laugh. AC III is just another game. A good one but not great.

Even if i try to be objective and forget final 10 minutes, it just does not cut it. Not a bad game, but considering the competition it is pretty average. There are awesome parts, there are improved bits and there are much more boring bland parts and broken bits.

even I'm not bring ending up for consideration, ME3 still not deserve it. second half of the game
is rush. so much potential gone to waste with a false promise from developers.
Extended Cut doesn't help it either because it's just fix an ending not the gameplay or design.
for me, my pick for GOTY is not Halo 4 but if there only 2 choice left between Halo 4 or ME3.
I will pick Halo 4, at least it can live up to hype while ME3 clearly didn't.

1) Is this guy joking? Different choices? ME3 had the least choice variety in the entire franchise. For a more detailed example, Mass Effect 3 was a game that was released earlier this year (February). This is a game that brought such an amazing dynamic experience to the player because it was filled with different choices(1) but also with so much emotion and suspense that(2), despite the last 5 minutes of the game, most reviews still gave it very high scores and encouraged people to still play it. The game was so good leading up to the very end that it was something that no player should miss(3), and that is what a game of the year nominee should be like.
2) This is an arbitrary statement.
3) This is also an arbitrary statement that doesn't belong in an article that is trying to be objective.
