MEHEM amputates the limb to save the body.  It removes the worst aspects of the ending and replaces it with and admittedly storybook ending.  But one that's still leaps and bounds better than what Bioware provided.

And that is where I disagree. To me it's as contrived and broken as the pre EC endings. Even worse due to its simplification of casualities of war, sacrifice and struggle. But yes, I know, that's just me. MEHEM is no improvement whatsoever IMHO.

It get's rid of the hwole Starbrat section. That right there is a massive improvment. Also the death of Anderson is enough, we don't need a forced EDI+geth death put in there because reasons. MEHEM is not perfect, I still prefer my headcanon(whih is in fact bittersweet* but MEHEM is better because of the simple fact that one entire section is gone.

And replaces it with sentimental, contrived........never mind.

The more endings, the merrier!

My Shepard lost Thane, Mordin, Legion, countless marines during Earth, almost lost Grunt and a bullet from her gun was what killed Anderson, her mentor and father figure. She earned her sentimenral, contrived happiness cliche happy ending with her crew.

I am sure she did.

I dunno, I've never liked happy endings like this. My fave DAO endings are the Ultimate SAcrifice/Redeemer endings. But like I said, the more endings, the better. It IS good to have options. ;)

thats what we want to tell.

in high ems destroy, it is even implicated, that shepard can survive the ending. this mod just pulls him/her out of the rubble.

bioware encouraged us to headcanon the endings by ourselves .. our headcanon is just a bit more sophisticated.

No, no, you misunderstand. Not forced as in "I am forced to play it" but forced in the way it works out. It makes no sense and the Normandy rescuing Shep from the EXPLODING Citadel makes as much sense as pre EC Catalyst did. To me, anyway.

As forced as

"We'd rather keep our own form"
"You can't"
?

And FYI, in the mod, the Citadel is charging up for the blast.  It makes as much sense as any story where the hero scrambles to get away from a bomb as the screen counts down to zero.

In addition, low EMS endings still have Shepard die, and no memorial scene plays.
So tell you what:  We'll believe in our space magic, and you believe in yours Image IPB

GB: "We preserve all advanced organic life in reaper form leaving the younger ones alone just as we left yours alone the last time we were here."

(cut dialog)

S: "Would you mind telling me how you arrived at that idea?"

GB: "Sure, one day while I was mulling things over looking for a solution, a thrall of the Leviathans, my creators, set a jar of these down near one of my optical sensors and I had this brilliant idea. Here is a holographic image of them."

Image IPB

S: "You're kidding me."

GB: "No, really. Then for fun I decided that we'd make each one resemble the life form they actually were and put them inside the shell that resembled our creator. Isn't that neat?"

S: "No."

GB: "Come on. It is, too."

(end cut dialog)

S: "We'd rather keep our own form."

GB: "You can't."

Now see how much more sense this scene makes? Image IPB

Glowboy is the serious weak link in the entire ending. There is no getting around it. It wouldn't matter if it was Harbinger, a Prothean, or whoever delivering that illogical message. The best thing they could do is get rid of it. It makes no sense at all.

The Crucible, that MacGuffin is a reaper off button, make no mistake about it. The only difference between the Glowboy ending and MEHEM is that the MEHEM ending is that you get to end the game with your morals intact, and not some screwed up ending that's going to leave a person in a state of depression for three bloody weeks afterward. It may be a story book ending, but guess what? Mass Effect is a story, hence the other endings are "story book endings" as well. They're just crappy story book endings. MEHEM just happens to be a better story book ending. Image IPB

As for EC - what worse than "evacuation scene"?
"evacuation scene" with EDI.
It is so unbelievably retarded, that it is actually hilarious.

Speak for yourself. My "morals" were just fine after each EC ending I picked. Shocking, I know!

ME3's endings didn't leave me in a state of depression whatsoever.

Tou you, maybe. I for one prefer the EC endings.

I liked that scene.

What's so bad about it? That bloody dull Harbinger doesn't shoot the Normandy down? Yeah, that would bode well for the bargaining with Shepard afterwards. Like the Catalyst or not, it's controlling the Reapers and shooting down the ship of someone he wishes to bargain with later.....now THAT would be dumb.

people getting all worked up about the ending when the battle was truly lost at the beginning of the game. Admiral Hackedoff threw in the towel...closely followed by The Council. Allers joined the ship, banged shep then was thown out of an airlock. We met Javik (who was always there but he would only come out of hiding if you stumped up bioware points) We met 3 enormous jellyfish after throwing bioware points at them, got weapon packs and armour packs. Liara became truly annoying. Ash had botox and ended up looking like she was sucking on a lemon. We met Vega. ME3s meathead. We saw the Normandy ruined and we met steeeeeve and Trayor. We found the war room to be utterly pointless. We got harassed by some barrier as we travelled through the ship just to save additional load screens. Joker Puled a glorified toaster. Tali took a polaroid. Shep dreamt of dead people. Shep got to do more banging. We discovered london is really a sh...hole. We tried to become usain bolt while running at the beam. We failed. We discovered that the Normandy can travel faster than light through an atmosphere and pick up wounded collegues while sticking its tongue out at harbinger. We discover harbinger wants us to serve him a gyn & Tonic. We discovered TIM was biotic. We discovered anderson could move at bionic man speed. we discovered shepard has a reboot switch in his head to wake him up if he nods off. We then dicovered that actually everything is pointless as we are presented 3 choices by a childs ghost while also learninig we can breath in the vacumm of space. We discovered that we could merge with household appliances. We discovered that by being electrocuted and vaporised we could control the reapers. We discovered the citadel was actually a huge blossum.

My guess is we were all dead. we were always dead. pergatory for everyone...with sprinkles.

Unless we destroyed the reapers.....

Did you get hit with the original endings? What has been seen cannot be unseen. March 22, 2012. Even with the EC, one sees through the additional dialogue and sees through the slide shows and sees the original ending. It has not changed one bit. The only way to fix it is to eliminate glowboy completely.

Then Harbinger wouldn´t have shot at all. Nor would TIM have tried to stop Shepard. And so on.

And EDI´s fembot is a remote. She is still in the Normandy.

it all comes down to personal taste.

i have a need for happy endings - i like them. not because i am too stupid to understand deep and dark endings, i need happy endings, because life is miserable and cynical enough. i have seen my share of disaster and death in real life.

having an ending like this, in the original game, or at least showing shepard alive in high ems destroy, would not have hurt anyone.on the other hand - the s**tstorm would have been less severe.

Everyone was wondering how the squadmates made it back to the ship in the original, and they couldn't pull it off in the edited version either.
