I still can't get over how badly the ending destroyed an entire trilogy

BSN home of the drama queens. It's a video game, like it or love it but get over it already. If the BSN was a broadway show it would be unwatchable. Might get away with first few weeks or first few months being called potentially constructive feedback but 8 months on its just whining for the purpose of theatrics.

When are people like you going to realise that these boards are not the exclusive property of those who love all things ME3? I dont need your permission to say that our endings are offensive and its apologists kowtowing plebs.

I don't think anyone is asking for that.

And haters are entitled, elititst snobs who think they know everything there is about storytelling.

Nope, they just know an asspull when they see one.

So much for not being elitist snobs.

I'm waving my little pinkie at you right now.

And since I am not male, the pinkie wave means squat to me.

Unless there's a new meaning to it that I'm unfamiliar with.

Well, design plans get modified as you move on through development, when you decide that something just isn't working. Stuff gets cut all the time, sometimes because it's a resource sink, sometimes because it's just a bad idea. The trial, for instance, went away because it started the game with a snooze. The indoctrination sequence  (which wasn't IT as we currently use the term) is said to have failed in playtesting. I don't think those two things would have worked better with more resources. They were just bad ideas that didn't make the cut.

But only a dev could tell us for sure, and they surely won't. And obviously, my read is colored by my personal tastes, since I always thought the trial was a bad idea and I've never liked IT.

I don´t see why the trial would have been a snooze. Good writing can be as thrilling as gunfight. Considering what we got, I´d rather have had Harbinger descending during the trial that a bunch of idiots whining and Shepard saying stupid phrases. It was the same in DA2, it looks like they were afraid to scare players away if they didn´t start killing as soon as possible.

Stop this demagogy, already.

But real choice were human lives versus asari and council. So you lied to prove your point, or just don't know ME1 plot.
I like you style. Plain lies are so credible.

Nah, ME1 had good storytelling, ME2 had bad storytelling, and ME3 had terrible storytelling, which ruined entire series.

No. It was just about the Ascension and its crew, not about thousands of Asari. (It wasn't a fleet, it was one ship)

Lol.
First, to bash ME1, you made some asspull and plain lie about choices:

The Ending Choices. The Destiny Ascension is worth thousands of lives just because it has a bunch of incompetent idiots on board?

Then, when i pointed that you misunderstood the choice, and choice was between asari lives(and council) and human lies -
You, suddenly stated opposite of what you said in first phrase.

The human fleet's losses cost many lives. I never denied that.

So, i caught you on deliberate lies, which made specifically to defend garbage.

Don't tell me what I "need", dearie, condescending remarks like that won't go over well.

Plain lies won't help you to defend garbage. And what are you doing in this thread, exactly? Bashing good ending mod for no reason, and defending garbage writing of ME3, by bashing it's prequels(which you fail at).

D'awwwwwwwww, lies? There was no other connection to Saren other than the Conduit? I guess Benezia never existed. Nor did other evidence. Sure.

Lol.
We have your first phrase.

The Conduit. If I were to be nitpicky, I'd be all "Chasing for something
without even knowing it exists or what it does because it will solve
everything?" Hmmmmmm, sound familiar?

Which is, of course, a plain lie. Mission was to chase Saren, then it became chase Saren and investigate Conduit and "Reapers". Where it was stated that Conduit solves everything? You just made it up.
And, knowledge about conduit comes from Tali and recording, and only then there was Benezia identified, and Shepard got other link.

And more melodrama. Yeesh. If you already thought ME2 was "bad", why did you even play ME3?

And why do you care? You'll eat everything EAWare serve you, thanks to your low standarts. Why are came to this thread? :wizard:

A number of people who didn't like ME2 much stuck around, hoping that ME3 would revert to being more like ME1. I don't know why, since Bio was always clear about considering ME2 to be a big success

Also, my issues with ME2 grew larger after playing ME3.

There's a certain amount of problems I'm willing to let slide because I like the series as a whole. But ME3's ending, especially the Synth one, melted a lot of that good will.

I should've known ME3 was going to hurt me when I saw Terminator at the end of ME2 and saw the designs for Ash and Kaidan for ME3. BW, why do you have to hurt my feelings? I just want to love you.

I understand quibbles about Ash being different in ME3, but Kaidan? Still same old Kaidan, just aged a bit.

Not just aged.

They bulked him (and the male Shep model) up a bit and it looks like they did some "masculinizing" of his jaw and cheeks.

I had a bad feeling when the game went HERE, MEN IS MENS AND GIRLS IS GIRLS.

One of my favourite things when I first played ME1 was the delight in Kaidan being in the skimpy catsuit, while Ashley (though her armor was pink) was in the bulked up, non-feminine armor. It was such a pleasant surprise and bucking of stereotypes that I developed such good feelings towards the game right then and there.

The man was soft spoken and gentle, the woman was tough and assertive.

And then, by ME3, it was all NO, WE MANLY MANS AND FEMININE WOMENS.

Got to second that concerning Williams: classy, strong character in ME1, basically same in her short cameo in ME2 (modified relationship of madam Commanders with her work rather flawlessly into that too, mraw) - and in ME3, she definitely did receive quite some neglect.
Shame, really.

I think what happens is that people are like, "Oh man, these endings sucked I'm tired of ME." Then they do something else for months, play Mass Effect, get to the ending after they "forgot" on a intimate level how bad it is, then get mad about it all again - because ME3 is that good in terms of being able to suck you in.

I know the ending is on my mind, but just because I finished the game for the second time since release. : V

you always need two sides for that. the people who defend the endings are no better than the ones, who dislike them.

the hate is strong on both sides - and you dont help to calm the s**tstorm down. you are pouring fuel into the fire as well.

this in an entertainment product - plain simple. some people are not entertained by the endings - you have to accept that, because it wont change.you like dark endings - i could say: "go and read some "dark heresy" books. but i dont - i accept your opinion and i can expect you, to do the same.

Eh?

Did you even understand what I said about the ending choices? That wasting thousands of lives on one ship just because the council is on it is nonsense? I don't even get what you're all worked up about. Saving the DA had nothing to do with the Asari on board. It was all about the Council. That's no lie, that's a fact.

Geez, you basically call me a fangirl, yet get all angry when games you love are criticized? Seriously? And not liking a "good ending" Mod ruffles your feathers too, I see. Very reasonable.

No, it's not. The Conduit comes up as quickly as the Crucible does. And until ILOS we don't even bloody know what it is or does!

Juvenile name calling serves no one. Just because I don't hate the endings I am a Bioware drone? Geez, that's a new one. I don't like some of Bioware's most loved games. IE Baldur's Gate 1. And I'm not a KOTOR fan either. But yes, I "eat everything EAware serves me." I hated the original ME3 endings. There were other things in ME3 I disliked. (I.E. Treatment of some ME2 characters)  Whatever. As I said before, there is no way to discuss this with you at this point.

There are some pretty bad eggs on both sides, yes.

I'm not entirely satisfied with the EC endings myself, believe it or not. I'm not entirely happy with ME3 either.

But yeah, I love that game. I love the entire series.

I simply am tired of "Waaaah, the endings ruined the series!" threads. Just as I am tired of "Anti-Enders are just too dumb to get it!" threads.
