How come Asari Valkyrie + Reegar isn't popular ?

Reegar X + Talon X(ULM) = +85% CD
Eviscerator X + Acolyte X = +150% CD

Why I don't use Reegar on her? Because I use Acolyte, which works even on distance. The problem are big fat armored bosses when I'm not using Incendiary ammo, so I have to equip Eviscerator just in case. I care about cooldowns. I'd switch shotgun into Hurricane if only I had it.

The Asari Sentinel doesn't care about cooldowns. You power up Tech Armor, AF, and occasionally use Warp.

Reegar, Piranha, Wraith are my favourite shotguns.
Claymore was my favourite shotgun in ME2, I have not used it in MP yet.

It's actually rare at least from my experience to find a PuG that uses her right.
Personally I like the Hurricane on her and the speed evo of AF. It just fits my play style more.

Hah, seems like neither Reegar nor Talon were useful on FB Hydra against Collectors on PUG game. I'll try with Paladin.
Most of Valkyries do not have fully defensive set up, and Collectors can kill Valkyrie just as easy as they kill other fragile characters. If Valkyrie is a boss killer, it is crucial she takes care of Praetorian effectively, but Praetorians are often able to counter Valkyrie`s move by using anti-power bubble and infamous stagerring melee.

So, when I engage a couple of bosses with a pair of infiltrators behind me they will just run away to kill marauders on the other side of the map. Marauders that will instantly respawn to flank me as I am dodging the ravagers and banshees.
Marauders will kill you more often than banshees. It is better to kite the banshees and kill other enemies to deplete the wave budget. The two infiltrators were probably doing the right thing.

Probably because many pugs don't have a Reegar or a Valkyrie.
This pretty much is probably the ultimate reason. Venerable BSNers, with slightly egotisical views regarding all the dirty masses of 'randoms' seem to forget that many of those less able who just play a bit now and then haven't even unlocked the Valkyrie yet.

perfectly true. 9/10 i'm down by marauders, troopers, centurions, etc. their weapons are deadly shield and health gate breaking tools.

Don't use warp if they're flying, they'll use their bubble every single time.
If they're flying, use your gun until they come back down and only then use your powers/grenades.
That bubble thing is why I always try to go lone wolf vs collectors. There's always a teammate to screw everything up.

The Reegar's great, but when I can get almost as good weapons at a much lower weight, there's no point.

So true. Here I am, waiting to use my flamer when it's touched ground so it does't put up the bubble, and there's always someone shooting a stupid concussion shot at him (seriously, a CS?).

Out of curiosity OP, why didn't you use the high velocity barrel on the Reegar? Was it because of the cool down?
Yeah. With that mod I could have used the extra ammo mod but it's not really needed since you can kill lots of stuff without it before needing an ammo box. Not worth the cooldown penalty IMO.

Unless you can solo Platinum with that loadout, poor comparison. I'm sure Fenecus can. I think even I can - will try this week.Frozen Mind wrote...

That's the biggest mistake a Valkyrie can do IMO. A Claymore Valkyrie will be A LOT more effective than an Acolyte/whatever one.

Is it another thread that looks down on PUG?
Yep. There is only one way to play a character apparently. As I stated before, Warp misses a lot so its nice to have a better CD to be able to toss it quickly again. At least for me. My opinion. Mine alone. All me.

Only good PUG Valkyrie I have met had Harrier equipped and never really fought enemy in close range.
Tech Armor + Speed + Warp debuff + Harrier = Extremely useful in any situation.

Well, you could use a Talon, Paladin, Wraith, Claymore and other guns with the heavier mods and get no cooldown penalty.

If you wanna use your Harrier at long range then the Turian Sentinel is much better.
