Well, to be honest I didn´t even try the last 2 chars. All of them are so generic, not even one new power, I don´t see the point in all of this.
Half the chars or even less but with new genuine powers and models would have been way better.

Dude, check out the Spriter's Resource forums. They make THESE guys look like priests.

Only a few of them have a lackluster power set (Hunter, Shaman), but the rest have interesting combos that could make for different playstyles. As far as their appearances go, I'm gonna have to agree with OP. I don't care that they take models from SP and modify them a bit. I just think re-skinning a character with a model already present in MP is kinda lame. I mean, there are a lot of Asari models from the series they could have used, yet four of the five use the same one (which also happens to be the blandest, imo).

Tl:Dr - Their appearances are lame. (Most of) Their power sets are not.

Edit: Despite my opinion, I'm aware they had a lot on their plate with Retaliation. Challenges, Volus/Turian kits, Collector enemies/weapons, and Hazard maps probably required a lot of work. It's understandable that something would get overlooked. I'm just disappointed that it was the weekly characters appearances.

So OP I have to ask, you didn't get what you paid for...????....Oh wait everything in the past few months which has been outstanding was free......which leaves me confused.

As to the new characters, you can't be serious, the characters since the last release rock, some need to be tweaked but we have lot's of characters, weapons, maps and levels....a wait isn't the end of the world.

Finally there is a saying "Don't cut off the hand that feeds you" in this case, speak for yourself, ..... the minority as the majority I run with appreciates everything BW has done, is doing and what is in store.

The new characters are a diversion to mask the fact that there are still numerous issues affecting the playability of this game. It's easier to release some copy-and-paste characters that aren't even tested than it is to fix real problems. My PS3 has been constantly freezing post Retaliation. No response to this major issue that affects all PS3 players. I've genuinely had enough of the new characters. If this game doesn't get fixed soon, I'm done with it. I know a lot of players who feel the same way. Many have stopped playing already.

I love when people bring up this "Masking the truth" argument.  It's not.  BW devs regularly listen for notes on problems from the BSN, and give us feedback on what may be wrong or that they're looking into things.  This is not a slight of hand trick

It could be interpreted as something to placate the players, but then, everything is about placating the players!  That's how you keep them playing!

This attitude like 'If something happens between now and fixing, then they aren't fixing anything!' is bizzare. BW is not a singular organism that can only focus on one thing at a time.  Some folks work on neat new stuff for us to play with, and keep us happy.  Other people work on fixing thigns that are wrong, to keep us happy.  If one happens a lot faster than the other, it's no excuse to go pissing your pants, 'threatening' to quit, and dreaming up conspiracy theories.

You got new stuff.  It didn't cost you anything.  Focussing entirely on what you didn't get instead is just being a sourpuss.

And on that note, with what you were talkign about before, no, spending $ on DLC doesn't really give him more say than anyone else.  You're buying random numbers, not shares of the company.  We (other players) don't owe him or anyone else that buys packs a thing, and if they wern't there paying for the free stuff, I'd be willing to bet that people would still play if the DLC came with a fee.  And this is all from someone who has spent $ on packs now and then.

Yet you feel you owe BioWare something.  You're coming to their defense, kissing their ass, and just acting like an all-around sycophant.

People who spend $ on the game do have a right to complain, and you seem to think they don't.

Truth is, BioWare ISN'T fixing real game-breaking (potentially hardware-breaking) issues.  Actually, they've reamained completely unresponsive when these things have been brought to their attention.  This is unacceptable, when there is an issue that could be damaging consoles.

But keep sucking up.  Obviously, a game company can do no wrong in your eyes.

Cute.

People who spend $ on the Packs have no more say than those who spent $ just buying the game.  You inferred incorrectly.

Pointing out how you're wrong is not the same as being a sycophant for the big evil company tht obviously doesn't deserve a lick of praise for anything in this game. That's why you don't bother to play this piece of crap game, right?  Because nothing about it is any good?

I've gotten miffed about many decisions BW has made, and said as much on these same forums.  The world is not so black and white as you seem to think it is.  There's more than a binary choice between awful and great or disgruntled and sycophant.

But obviously I'm only saying this because BW told me too. :D

Oh I get it now.  You're one of these people who trolls forums just to point out where other people are supposedly wrong.  You're not so much interested in the game or any game-related topic really.  It's all about pointing out others' mistakes.  Sorry, I'm not interested in this type of thing.  I'm here to discuss ME3 MP.

OP, get the nearest grown-up to explain this post to you!!!

Wow. I don't completely agree with the OP, but it seems like you guys are getting worked up way more than the OP is.

To think that by engaging the OP in an open discussion, we'd could actually have an interesting discussion going over quality, quantity and what people want most in new characters. Instead there's a long list of no's and namecalling, interspersed with the occasional post expounding their view on the matter.

On-topic:
I get what you are saying, but I think that within the available powers there is still enough potential for interesting combinations of powers.
That said certain kits feel quite similar to others dispite not having the same powers, by virtue of the function being similar. And certain powers that see a lot of use (Incinerate) could use an alternative, since it's seem to get used a whole lot.

BioWare, don't listen to [insert bannable offense here]

Some of the new characters have less charm but you forget we get 4 special new characters and 10 slightly more derivative in this DLC. They add welcomed variety to the coop gamemode and some are a blast, i.e. geth soldier.

Let's just say I have a hard time imagining that someone could actually be excited about changing  their lights or skin color
(which are barely visible) when you could get a better weapon that actually offers a completely new playstyle instead.

But we(and there are quite a lot of us) can't get any weapons instead of the characters as we have all but the ultra rares.

Wasn't the Geth Soldier one of the new ones? That character is ridiculously beast. Why not try it? It's the first character with both hunter mode and some tankiness.

You seem to be getting upset.  I'm not judging you.  I'm just pointing out that your belief that the "free" DLC and content ISN'T supported by those paying real $ for micro-transactions is a bit naive.  Of course people who get something for free are going to love any content they get.  What you don't seem to realize is the people who play for free - their gaming experience is effectively subsidized by the people who buy real $ packs in the store.  BioWare doesn't just put out free stuff and expect nothing in return.  They make money off it.  I do find it odd that some people seem to be under the impression that BioWare releases "free" content as a reward for being nice on the message boards, and not because there are people who ARE paying for it.  It's also weird for these people to attack and criticize the people who are spending money so they can play for free.  Earlier someone said "Don't bite the hand that feeds you."  What people need to realize is BioWare isn't the only "hand" feeding them.

I never said anything contrary to that.  It's obvious revenue from pack-sales supports the free DLC.  I've spent $ on packs myself, and have thus contributed to the same.

But splitting hairs over the definition of free is pointless, as to most players it is indeed free.  And again, choosing to earn credits with time invested rather than spending cash doesn't mean a player should have less of a say than the impatient ones with cash to burn.

Also, throwing out slander about kissing ass and sycophancy is a judgment.  Nice of you to double back on yourself all the same.

:D

I hope they keep it up. I love using my Krogan Adept. Between warp and melee it's the most fun I've had with the class.

Edit to add: I also like the character cards so, needless to say, I hope they continue doling those out as well.

Yes I'm sure players are just thrilled getting to change their light colors instead of getting something that is actually useful, like a new gun.

How is a new gun actually useful? I've got a maxxed out manifest and I've still never used the Collector Rifle or SMG - there are a load of guns that I literally only use for challenges.

Rolly Polly Volly Adept on the other hand ... in lovely reds and purples with pretty pink lights? Now you're talking! :P

Complaining about free content? Makes perfect sense to me.

I'm sorry but I absolutely hate how some people think that just because something is free they can throw any sense of standards out the window. Would you be glad if someone dumped their used dishwasher on your front lawn because "hey, its a free dishwasher!". For that matter, why did you pay for Mass Effect when there are plenty of free games you can play online? What people don't realize is that nothing is ever free. Typically if you're not paying with money then you're paying with time and to play devils advocate one could argue that these new characters are not worth the time it takes to unlock them.

Personally, although I am disappointed that a lot of character models were reused and the powers are not as synergistic as some that have been done in the past, I still think that overall these kits add a ton to the game and am glad that they were introduced.
