I don't really follow. Don't you think people who made changes to their game would have a better idea of what helped to make their game more fun/balanced/whatever than people who only played the base game? If anything, it would only make that feedback more educated.

I do however have a major issue with mods that allow people to modify and add their own stats to wep/armor/acc/char/ect.

Why would that be an issue?

Just look at the me3 mp forums for the answer to that question. Players that have been shamelessly cheating in their single player games attempt mp, get bested, then complain on these forums that the opposing forces and level difficulties are too over powered. As a result of these skilless complaining, things are nerfed, for everyone.

...ok.  So people who play at unbalanced difficulty levels in Mass Effect (Casual, Narrative, and Insanity) shouldn't be allowed to express their opinions either?

Most feedback here on the forums tends to be about story and characters anyway.  And it's not like the devs listen to precisely what we say anyway.  They tend to more have their finger on the general pulse of the fandom, and since mods are only used by a portion of the PC community, and only some mods change mechanics significantly, I doubt it'll really skew their future game design.

Don't sugar coat it sable, most people that play casual/normal/hard/ect aren't doing so with invulnerable armor and one shot rifles. But this isn't a argument for this thread, if you'd like to continue pm me, otherwise I'm done.

There's no MP in DA2.  And most people who mod their games in DA2 don't do it for the overpowered weapons/armor either.  The really popular files downloaded on Nexus speak for themselves--most of them are bugfixes that stay fairly balanced, or entirely cosmetic.

I haven't played me3, but I don't believe it had a toolset. I really think you're confusing legitimate mods with, well, cheats. Besides that, the people you describe just sound rather like idiots. You should have confidence in the ability of developers to recognize the grievances of idiots when they see them.

Cries for nerfs and buffs and attempts to cheat happens in every game with multiplay content, there's no sense in blaming mods.

Tottally missed my point. The same goes for single player games such as Da2 combat being nerfed due to Dao complaints. My point is the side effects of cheating aren't restricted to any personal game when players have voice.

@ Dhiro - when those mods can produce the same effects as cheats, yes there is blame to be had there.

I think you're being a little dramatic. The devs aren't silly, they can tell good feedback from bad one and will add things that match how they want the game to be. They changed the combat because they wanted to, not because of the mods.

Yeah, I'd give the devs a little more credit.  If they can tell bystanders who happen to benefit from deliberate cheaters in MP, they can probably pick out when someone's feedback is due to a mod that changes from the mechanics.  And besides, if you feel the game's too easy, there are always mods that ramp the difficulty up :)

If you want to import an created DA:O character into DA2, you need to place the DA:O save in the DA:O save folder, otherwise DA2 won't recognize it.  There is no point in changing character scores in the DA:O file, since only your decisions will impact DA2.

I am always astonished at how what happens in another person's single player game manages to so grievously offend some players.

I copied the entire DAO created save file into DAO2 save file and it does NOT work.  please help

What's MP?

And I don't consider the majority of mods I use in DAO and DA2 a 'cheat' as they usually are cosmetic or enhance the game, or an aspect of the game (Like Cmessaz's IRS Alistair mod). I only use one 'programming' cheat in that I downloaded a mod that enables Merrill to use the creation tree (making her a healer and eliminating the need to have Anders with me for that role which allowed me to be able to play rogues and warriors instead of always being a mage). Oh and a mod that removes that rocky armor visual or the whoooshing air around you with those two mage buffs.

You aren't supposed to do that.  The save file should go into your characters file in the DAO folder.  There  you should be able to find the game when you select your own import to DA2.  Just as if you had played it in DAO.

OK.  First, make sure the save file you created is in the correct DA:O folder.  Should be in Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Characters (or something like that).  From there, click on the folder for the relevant character and make sure the save file under a sub-folder called "Saves".

When you boot up DA2, you should get the option to import a character from Origins.  If you placed the created save in the correct folder, it should turn up when you start a new game.  If not, and the game thinks the save is corrupted, recreate it and try again.

Let's double-check:

My Documents -> BioWare -> Dragon Age -> Characters -> (Here there will be folders with your characters' names) -> Saves (This is where the save files should be)

If everything is in order then I don't know! :(

EDIT: Remember that the import option appears after the opening scene where you fight as default!Hawke.

Out of all the non DA3-related threads on the DA3 forum section, this one takes the cake.

As has been stated, the Warden character in DA:O is not who you play as in DA2. In DA2, you are always Hawke. The purpose of importing the Warden save is only to affect a few story-related things.

You don't play as your Warden. The import means that the choices you've made back in Origins will change some things in DA II, but the character is new.

That is useless.  What about the levels ?  I was level 17 mage when I stoped DA1.  and my attributes were like 25 each.  what about those ?  why didn't those iimport ?

If all you cared about was your stats, you wasted your time trying to create an import. You will always start at level 1 in DA2, regardless of what you had in DA:O. They are different characters.

What is the best way to pump up my attributes to 25 each on all of them ?  what is the best mod for that ?  and what about all the magic items I had.  where did it all go ?

Hawke is your surname, you can only change your first name, and only at the start of the game. Your magical items are lost, though I believe imports get the Blood Dragon Armor for free when they reach their homebase.
