In DA:O, we meet Sloth Demon, got mind controlled then going into the Fade. The realm itself look different, unreal than the rest of the game design. We know we are in the Fade.

in DA2, we are sent into the Fade, again the real is is blurry and look dreamy, we know we are in the fade.

How about in DA3, the player dont know being in the Fade, everything is similar with all other design in the game. Also no indication of we are being sent into the Fade or trapped in the Fade. Only in the end of the quest we either realize everything is not real or remain trapped in the Fade.

Sure, might work for non-mages. A mage who's in the Fade without realising they are there is a poor excuse for a mage (looking at you, Wynne).

Also, isn't surrealism kinda the shtick of the Fade? Kinda hard not to notice that.

If my lore is correct, the Fade is everchanging, but only mages are truly aware of that. Non-mages just don't notice all the weird things going around them, much like we never notice anything wrong with our dreams until we wake up.

After reading 'Asunder' I got the notion that the Fade could be quite the convincing approximation of real life events.

I want to go to the black city.

Edit: I wonder if the fade would be the same in the black city or if it would instead be less surreal. Though I guess it would be more surreal then the rest due to the courrption....

The Fade is literally shaped by its inhabitants and varies from person to person due to interpretation. There is no real Fade.

what i mean "real Fade" is the realm where anyone not realize being in it.

In DA:O and DA2, we know we are in the Fade. The level design, the quest, everything showing we are in the Fade. while actually our companions don't realize it, at least in DA:O. In DA2 they know they are in the Fade but still got tricked by Fade demons.

So, why not in DA3 the player don't know it is the Fade, the game goes on without any hint we are in the Fade, until certain plot or clue in the end.

So that could show how dangerous the Fade is.

Ah, you mean a change in level design to see what our protagonist is seeing? So, instead of the environment being blurry and such, we'd see a firm foundation? I could get behind that. Why not? I'd think a mage would start to see the cracks a little sooner if not immediately, but from a regular person's perspective? I'd like to see that.

Yes, not only that, we don't ever know we are in the Fade (our character also). It is like this, we play the game, getting into some plot, then continue playing the game, but until reaching at certain point there we either realize we are actually in the Fade or not. There is no "someone get you into the Fade intro or quest".

level design is the same with non-Fade level design, the city, the camp, the ruins, the caves...the peoples, companions...no "getting into the Fade" quest intro, no indication of get into the Fade whatsoever

It will be shocking that they are all actually demons in the end...and some one is actually want to recuse you from the Fade..."You are in the Fade, believe me!"-he/she say

I thought DA 2 is the real fade where Hawke doesn't really exist and everything we saw was just imaginary of the past which may or may not actually happen.

Plot wise, maybe a Tevinter dreamer playing with the Inquisitor mind, then Fenriel come to the rescue

I still say the whole of DA:O is actually the fade dream of my Mage Warden's harrowing. All that "you've woken up" stuff from Jowan is just a trick from a demon.

Really, I think there should be some indications that this is a dream, even if they're a little subtler. Like people acting out of character, or doors not leading where they're supposed to, or things like that. Or suddenly realising your character is naked, that happens a lot in dreams.

The bold part does happen a lot....

How do we know we are dreaming or not? Even if we are naked in our dream, we only realize it is a dream when we are awake...and that is not entirely true, there is "dream inside dream"  where you wake up in your dream, turn out to be you still dreaming until you really wake up...it does happen to me sometimes

Wynne is actually a dead excuse for a mage.  She bit the big one canonically.  No more Wynne.  No more useless platitudes.

Maybe the Fade will go Art Deco with a mild stuckism influence?
You know, that would be broken and torn watercolor art deco designs on cardboard, glued to various surfaces.
