Another companion to the female Qunari I cited earlier, is an advanced pet.
Dog was fine but rather limited. 100% immediate love and always look the same excepted the paint variation.
I would like a pet that grow up physically, like you get it as weak baby, feed it with gifts, and it becomes a fierceful big meany beast Posted Image (and eventually become rideable if it's for Dragon Age 2 Posted Image)

Or, you might get a scene such as the one in Apocalypto where the old knowledgeable warrior gives the youngin that special plant to put on his thinger and not knowing any better he does. Gives a new insight on "Feel the burn!"

What was funny was the wife coming out and slapping at her mouth.

In regards to Dog, I kinda feel that he should have been classed as a pet similar to the summonable creatures that is only usable by the PC. Taking up a character slot was a bit much considering that if you want to see all character interation then he gets in the way, but that's perhaps just my opinion.

I really like the demon idea, but maybe not demon. Just some not-evil creature from fade who got curious and took over some body to have a little adventure. With unique abilities of course. There is already very few abilities in the game as it is, so some new innovative ones would be welcome.

I would also like a griffon. I know, they are extinct. So what? Its friggin fantasy game, bring one back just for the warden in some interesting way :).

This is exactly what I was thinking from the day I got DA. I am still hoping for a mod to remake dog into non-slot-occupying creature :)

Ditto, I was thinking too that a griffon who had lost one wing (which would give some logical reason as why it cannot fly) would be fun addition to the companions.

That's true, the lack of character interaction and quest with dog does not make it very atttracting as an active party member.
However I guess having it as permanent additional active member brining the party size to 5 may pose a team balance problem, as well as a dog inventory/skill management limitation since it would only be accessible at camp using the current implementation of the game.

Well at least if you are a ranger you can have you own permanent pet Posted Image

Preferably a Male mage or another elf companion.

It would be interesting to have an expansion where you started out with only one of the original group and collected a new group of companions along the way. My preference would be a scenario with the warden and Alistair going to Orleis or the warden fortress, but it could be tied into any of the companions backstories. One thing that I would really like to see in future DLC/expansions is more of an emphasis on expanding the story with real consequences to the characters, something that was very much lacking in the Warden's Keep DLC. I'm really not interested in loot. I just want to see more character development.

A renegade darkspawn herlock alpha to get a glimpse of the evil they were doomed for. Because in the end it says that some powerful darkspawn preyed on one another.

I think I read somewhere that future releases might include other lands such as Orlais, Rivain or Antiva etc. Of course if this this were to come about it is probably in the distant future.

There'll be 5 new companions in the new expansion. Hopefully many will have their wishes fulfilled with them. I'm hoping in a female orlaisian knight :D

Ooh I wonder if 'Chevalier' will be a spec that the Orlesian warden can have?

As for the 5, I'd like to see

Ser Cauthrien (champion/some other spec)
a female elf mage (spirit healer/some other spec)
a male elf rogue (ranger/some other spec)
a female dwarf warrior (bezerker/reaver)
a male dwarf rogue (assassin/duellist

There is no Orlesian Warden in Awakening.

A dalish male mage, or a Elf Warrior. Perhaps a Griffon in place of dog, but impratical as the Griffons are extinct.

My top choices:
1. Griffon: they are said to be extinct but it would be an awesome quest to go search a possible rumors that they exist in some far off location. Once you find a clan of Griffons your party finds an abandoned one because it is the runt of the litter and left to die. Leli takes compassion on it and says it should be saved. Morrigan, Shale, and Sten all believe since it is the runt then it is no use to them. The dog just angrily grows at it since it is smaller than him (that changes as the griffon grows bigger)

2: Female Elf like Mithra: A quest to find another clan of elves (would like it to be the one from the dalish elf origin story because come on who didn't feel your character should have seen his clan again after he became a warden?) The female elf would want to join you on your quest (if male elf she had schoolgirl crush on you) or (if female elf she thought of you as an older sister and wants to be just like you and fight darkspawn).

3: Female Dwarf of old Ancient Nobility: Lost in a deep Thaig 3 houses of Dwarfs have fought for centuries to survive being cut off from from Orzamar. Your team fighting past darkspawn uncovers this lost city and finds these sealed off dwarfs. There you find a dwarf noble/princess warrior who has been defending and keeping her people together. She tells you of a conspiracy of how other noble houses shut hers and other off when the darkspawn uprising began. With your help she asks you to help lead her people to Orzamar. Upon completing this quest the female/princess dwarf knows a life of complacency and poitics is not for her and asks to join you because you look like you've seen your share of battle.

4. A dwarf mage: Take #3 only make them an ancient dwarf race that could wield magic and the noble/princess still possesses those talents.

5: Female Antivan Crow Rogue: Help Zeveran lead an attack against the crows to keep them from going after them. Upon assault of their base you come to their holding facilities where they are torturing a female elf. Zeveron recognizes her as someone he did many co-op missions with and makes a comment about being someone Leli could relate to "wink wink." Once you free her she says as long as you aren't the crows she'll go where you go and basicaslly pledging her life to you as well.

All companions except Griffon (because that would be odd... except maybe dog and Griffon... btw Griffon would be female) are ;).

Aye, that's true, just wish there was a way. :(  Or at least for him to interject on conversations like other party members!

Bann Teagan:  They attack every night...
Dog:  Woof!
Bann Teagan:  Of course, it's so obvious, thank you Dog!  That will solve all our problems with one blow!
Me:  Wait, what did he say??!!

Well this realy needs at least a female warrior and another unique companion(like shale and dog), more elves would also be nice. i gues griffons will appear in dragon age 2, they are mentioned too often to not use them somehow imo.
