that ought to seem as a wierd question. It depends on whether we meet people who convince us that they do, whether it be by logic or it "just seems like they do". I am an INTJ, so I try my best to be as realistic and logical as possible. I do not remember ever being kicked for having an N7 under 130. It has happened only once and at that level.

then again, I haven't gotten kicked yet from a platinum match while using my crusader/javelin drellguard, so I don't know what's going on.

As one of the top promoters I will give you my reasons.

1. I see no point in millions of wasted expiernce for a level 20.

2. I'm a role player and I like sending my army to single player.

3. Personal goals keep me motivated. Like right now I want to get to rank 30,000 just because
that's a nice even 1000 promotions. I also want the final banner.

Once I finish that there isn't much left to do but the weekends. My rank doesn't make me better then anyone or worse. The argument that the high ranks suck is false. And I would rather pick a high rank random then a low anyday

It used to be before this challange system I would wonder why, what is the thought process behind it, however with this new system we pretty much have to if you want the N7 banner.

In a random lobby I don't pay much attention to it, I look at the players banner, sometimes their CP, but with everything people are working on, I take a quick look at what the group is running as a whole to determine if this is going to be easy or.......maybe I should find another lobby.

I don't really care. The main reason that I don't promote is that I either a. like my classes just the way they are or b. have enough respec cards. I promoted my soldiers once because I didn't have a respec card.

If other people want to get their N7 level higher they can go right ahead, I don't care either way.

No it sure doesn't, I was playing with a PUG who was an N7 89 yesterday, and he/she was sick good.

While the guys in the N7 1,000's were on their backs, a lot..

exact same with me. The one time I met a 1000+ who was decent I still outscored him by like 50k and had to carry the entire team during the majority of wave 6 of collectors/vancouver/gold in my FQE. and it was a weapons-oriented build. plus they kept dying the entire match anyways.

Isn't that what BSN is for? Sharing our opinions/builds on a game we love? Or something else?

Just curious as to what people who don't promote think of people who do. It seems like the popular opinion is people who promote are basement dwellers forever obsessing over their e-peen who never shower and drink their own urine to survive. Or something like that.

Don't be afraid to be honest.

I promote because I just CAN'T STAND getting character cards in a SP or PSP that do absolutely nothing because that class is already lvl 20.

Also, don't knock the e-peen. It's important. It (with its many variations) is an essential part of any game worth playing.

I like to level up a char, play with him some time, then change to other (by promoting, so I can level up again). For example, I level up human sentinel, play with it for sometime, then I promote it and start to level up the Turian Sentinel. I never play two chars from the same class at the same time. I promote to change char in a class, this is my rule =D

I don't care about the number, and I don't like respec cards

I used to hate the idea of promoting. After realizing that the game was never going to give me respec cards, I learned to love promotion.

The people who promote are mostly doing it because they want to respec their character and haven't been lucky enough to get one.

I promote when I get bored. Whatever people want to do is fine with me. Just don't bring a level 1 into Gold, unless it's a private/friend game.

QFT.

;)  well not really.
But before challenge points came out, a big N7 score (in some people's eyes) indicated skill and ePeen size;  and that feeling certainly seemed to float about.

Personally i'm not bothered by how big or small anything you have is.
Unless you're a woman, in which case C-D's are good.  IMO.

I think BSN is best used for stat analysis and news, such as upcoming events, classes and balances.  After that comes the "shooting the breeze", epeen waving, and popcorn munching.
All good stuff when you're waiting for code to compile.

I really think I have undiagnosed ADD. At the very least, I do have mental issues. I got 3 respec cards. I promote cause I get bored real quick (I know, go figure right. 850 hours of playing ME3 horde mode). I cant play the same character over and over. I look at that level 20 and go, ok promotion time. Some things I just got little rituals for. Promotion is one of them.

Honestly?

I really don't care. I have friends on my list as low as 120 and as high as 10,000+. All are skillful and fun to play with.

The primary reason I don't promote is because I'm almost always playing Gold games with a small variety of classes. I don't want to be a drag and say, "Oh, hey, friends, I can't play with you yet because I just promoted all my classes." I am NOT skillful enough to take something under level 20 onto Gold, so I just don't do it.

Also, I am enjoying my nice, even 600. Image IPB

At this point, I will only promote again if a weekend challenge calls for it or if I manage to get every other challenge banner and the promotion one is the last one left. Odds are not in favor of that happening before 2014, so...

I am N7 round 1000, and played 300 hours, so I don't promote a lot.

I don't care about other players promoting. That's a game, everybody play the part they want.

There is something I understood though : I played SP one week ago. My readyness was off the chart and I didn't start the game already : promoting a class gives just insane advantage to sp.

I used to promote fairly regularly when respec cards were rare items to try new stuff out and keep things interesting... now those cards are only uncommon I rarely promote so my N7 rank has been kicking around 1500 for ages.

I've got a friend who likes promoting, he likes using lower level characters and his N7 rank is 6000+ which is fine; doesn't make him a better or worse player than me just that he enjoys a slightly different aspect of the game *shrugs*

The thing I like least about promoting is having to note down the skills I've got set up for those characters I don't want to change - those I've managed to get "just right" through previous promotes and respecs until the skills are exactly how I like them... you don't have that problem with respecs as you can just reset one character rather than the entire class.

I think that most players who promote all the time have simply found another way to enjoy the game. I couldn't fathom why, however, as I find it tedious and boring as hell. I like having all my desired powers available. I don't see high N7 players as being more skilled. That varies on an individual basis and it's likely I have more hours logged in than many of those whose ranking is thousands higher than mine.

Nothing, I could not care less what people do with their games, it is their choice and there are different types of people, some like to just to stick around what they have and some people want to go forward until the end times so why would I care who does what.
Personally I promote if I feel like it, done it twice so far but I do it rarely as two times since the release of the game and my playtime is about 250-ish hours so I could easily be N7 600 to 900 or even more instead of the 420 I currently am.

I consider them primitives or people who cant get respec cards due to lack of credits
