I promote for weekend challenges, and to respec. But my number one reason is probably boredom--I just feel like starting from the bottom and levelling up again. The N7 rating is inconsequential to me--other than to the extent that it keeps me from getting insta-kicked. I have no problem with those who derive pleasure from pursuing it however--nor with those who don't. I reserve my amused disdain for the judgmental.

I don't care. If you want to promote, do it. If you don't want to, don't.

I don't really think about it at all. I truly only notice if someone's number is either extremely high or extremely low.

Just curious as to what people who don't promote think of people who do. It seems like the popular opinion is people who promote are basement dwellers forever obsessing over their e-peen who never shower and drink their own urine to survive. Or something like that.

Don't be afraid to be honest.

I am a non promoter. I think that people who do promote are... people who do promote.

Honest.

I like to casual u/u/g and have fun with a group in u/u/p, promoting made the game more frustrating than it already is.
I also hate the game telling me how to play so I stopped promoting.
Promoting or not I just want a reliable teammate who knows he needs a cyclonic for that level 1 in platinum, doesn't leech xp, ect.

I have promoted a lot before the banners were released. I think I now have about 100 promotions. I earned the N7 banner and have recently decided to stop promoting. I found it was stopping me from playing gold effectively. Now that I don't promote I can play gold exclusively and get better at the game. As others mentioned, they used to promote so they could have a challenge in gold with a lower level character. That seems pointless now with Platinum, but maybe one day i'll be at that level.

Honestly, though, you should always promote once a week when the new character comes out. With all the 250k character cards you're getting you'll be level 17 soon enough without ever having to play that class at a low level.

I do think promotion needs more of a reward, and have suggested that you receive free respec cards, or a nice consumable packs for doing so. The N7 banner is nice, but there is no point in earning it over and over. Challenge points are as meaningless as N7 score.

I promote partly because I initially started playing multiplayer to support my single player game, so promoting made sense back then. However now I also enjoy levelling up characters, it gives a more rapid feeling of progression than slowly upgrading my weapons, etc., through the store. Finally, I have a couple of friends who have a similar approach to promoting as I do, so between us out N7 scores make for a friendly bit of competition.

I maxed out my respec cards while I was buying Veteran packs to max out my uncommon weapons and characters. I have never spent any of them, as I found getting them instead of gun upgrades so irritating.

I only promote for weekend challenges and the 60 promotions challenge. Other than that I don't bother (I think before the challenges were added I was at 500 N7 with 98% manifest maxed). If people want to promote constantly that's up to them, just please bring a decent lvl char into Gold matches (although I have no doubt there are people who can perform great in Gold with low lvl chars).

I didn't like promoting when it reset everything, but now that your profiles are saved, I use them to respec an entire class when there are many new builds I want to try on different kits.

That.
So when I see players with outageous N7 scores who obviously did more than promote for respec, I think...Honestly nothing. They might have fun restarting with fresh characters wielding big guns or whatever, i's their story/life/fun, I don't feel the need to resort to biaised judgements.
Of course if it happens they are very bad players, I might ponder for like at least 10 seconds...After all it's Internet and all. :P

I choose to promote.

Remember when they added banners?  Who's to say that they won't add something later in ME3 or the series that your N7 rating affects?  Maybe then you'll wish you would have promoted.  One thing is for sure: there's no harm in promoting.

Also, the high-N7 folks probably die often because they aren't Level 20.

I don't promote unless it's required for a weekend op, but I don't care if others do. N7 330.

Promotion is necessary for N7 challenge, so it`s fine now.

Before it was kinda meaningless, I did it because I was xxxxing tired of getting characer cards again & again.

For those who continuously promote their characters, obviously that`s how they enjoy the game. There is nothing for me to think about them or for them.

Uhm..i don't think anything of the folks that promote...if that's what they want to do, so be it. I personally can't be bothered with it. i think the rank needs to be handled in how many characters/games you've played.

I think once you've unlocked all the characters, then ranks need to be increased by how many games you've played...etc....and while it may not represent skill, it will give folks an idea of how long you've been playing and how much experience you have.

I have never promoted. The only reason is because I do not want the additional war assets in single player. I like to have to do some "work" to get the breath scene.

When I see a very high N7 ranking I think it's somewhat funny that they can get the best ending in the game without even trying, assuming that is that they even play single player. Other than that it is only a possible indication of how long you have played multiplayer

I use to promote back in the beginning because for some reason I felt it was a waste of exp to just sit at 20. But that was before I did a lot of gold. So I started to enjoy gold and quit bronze and silver and 20 was more enjoyable and anything sub 20 when I couldn't enter a game with maxed skills and utilizing them to there full potential wasn't really fun. So I quit promoting, but started back up whenever a promote weekend event or DLC was introduced just to get my N7 number to a certain point.

I recently just finished the N7 Promotions Mastery and I absolutely hate promoting and playing low level characters. The progression to level 20 isn't very fun. I'll waste a mil looking for respec cards before I decide to promote a character just to respec them.

So people who promote? Maybe they have a goal they're trying to reach or they like playing with low level characters with unevolved skills. Frankly, I don't care, just better not suck.

Honestly, I'm a SP completionist. My MP rank/promotions are done for the sake of MP, as I know in SP I'll be doing all the missions and quests regardless of the impact on my war assets.

I don't promote and I don't really care about what other people do one way or the other. I used to promote a lot but given that I actually play almost every character in the roster on a regular basis it just got to be too much of a pain to be constantly rebuilding every character in every class. Especially now that we have almost ten characters in each class.

Same here. For me it just helps to make the war assets I do have more "meaningful", since you never see them do anything in game.
