I was toying around with the idea of trying to use a sniper rifle for a while now. My love grew for them in ME2, espcially paired with Adrenaline Rush. Slowing down time to aim that perfect headshot, seeing enemey's life bars flicker to nothing with the flick of a trigger... it felt great. The same feeling greeted me all the way through MME3's campaign.
But you see, the love was around only because of AR, because I could slow down time. Without it, I always under or over estimate my shots, and just miss the enemy by a hair, the scenery adorned with a brand new hole.
After promoting my Gethgineer, I thought, "You know what, I'll give snipers a shot." I took the Turian Soldier, grabbed my IX Widow, and went off to Uknown/Unknown/Bronze. Yeah, I know, Bronze is easy peasy, but I wanted a training ground of sorts. After readying up, not waiting for randoms to shuffle into the lobby aimlessly, I was whisked away to Geth and White. I set up camp and aimed away.
It felt fantastic, shredding through those synthetics as if they were hot butter. I was getting my fair share of headshots, and it felt... gratifying. I know there's the hubbub about the TSoldier and Marksman making most weapons easy mode, but still.
Then the randoms came. Just my luck, they were all Biotics. Even more lucky, one was an Ex-Cerb and the other was a human Adept, and both were rather fond of Lash and Smash, and Shockwave respectively. Trying to aim down the sights, and seeing your target flying off at a breakneck pace, or trying to look through a lens whilst an earthquake rumbled nearby, it started to get a bit frustrating. I mean I knew there was a slight problem, but I never knew it could feel this bad. I didn't get to finish the game unfortunately, as we all know by now, I lost connection to the EA servers for the millionth time today. However, it didn't really matter. Shooting a cloaked Hunter, obliterating the head of a Prime, it felt awesome. A nice little bit of relaxation, as it were.
So, to all you snipers out there, thank you. Thanks for taking out enemy skulls, for anhiliating health, shield, barrier, and armour alike. And I'm sorry that my biotics have gotten in the way of that perfect shot in the past. I'll know to definitely keep my space from now on.
TL;DR: The bold.

Screenshake is a just a part and parcel of playing a sniper. Its why I hang back or away from my team by 5-10 metres. As long as its not deliberate, s'all good.
Besides, I feel like a boss when I nail a headshot through screenshake.

You're welcome.
I played some U/U/G last night with my SI, rocked the widow hard I did. It can be frustrating when you line up that one-shot rifle and miss, but oh man does it feel good when you pull off a sweet headshot even with the screenshakes.
It's a catch 22 I suppose

I once played as Salarian engineer with Saber and I had this one trolling a**hole running behind me, spaming shockwave, shaking my screen. He didnt realize, Saber wasnt a sniper rifle...
I couldnt stop laughing how hard he tried

Crusader can be used as a sniper too, great when paired with turian soldier with marksman specced for max fire rate.

But really gets little benefit from accuracy bonuses as its so accurate, and even RoF doesn't change much more for me.
Better off on other kits as a pocket sniper. I'm coming to really like the Crusader though.

Crusader is tied for weight with the Claymore.
The Claymore is easier to level.
The Claymore packs a punch with mediocre range.
Marksman makes it Widow-Accurate.
Practice reload-cancelling, 'snipe' with the Claymore.

For fairness... just disable biotics while snipers are zoomed in.
Nah tis ok but you don't have to do your stuff from the sniper perch do you? Elsewhere it's on me.

You're welcome; it's why we have the TGI, so we can put down the Javelin after one of those really shaky rounds and go completly brains-off screw good aim easy mode.

Play PUG Gold. There are much fewer Shockwave/Biotic Slash spammers here - because they die really fast.
Also, I read "thank you for your hard work" in Kai Leng's voice and for a split second I had the urge to punch someone in the face.

You are very welcome, and I in return would like to thank my Vanguard brothers for getting enemies out of my grill.
The screenshake is worth the not dying part. Plus, I learned to just shoot when I have the enemy's skull in sight.

stay away from the team and you´ll be ok. I think that´s how usually snipers work in any games or even in real life, they don´t march with everyone else

I like teaming up with good Snipers...am rather lousy at the ME MMO myself and so am content in a supporting role....playing a Shot Gun toting Infiltrator spamming the Cryo Blast and setting up a field of statues for the Sniper to take down.

Shaking I can handle, what I hate is the flamer... just stop the flamers please... I beg of you. There are a lot of times where I just have to run away from enemies because there's a flamer or two going no and I can't line up a headshot, or hell even know where the enemy is/are. At that point, I find the flamer to be more of a burden then a help. Especially with people using it every few seconds

I enjoy playing with good snipers and covering their backs since I'm not so good at sniping. But I'm testing my skills with a SI with Valiant on bronze. I'm alright I guess. Need more practice. I definitely understand how annoying screen shake can be so now I make sure to stay away from them if I'm playing a character that does that.
