I’m an “older gamer” (40 years old) and new to gaming on the PC. As yet I haven’t plucked up the courage to attempt a public match on any difficulty because I don’t like the thought of strangers having to carry me. All my other multiplayer games are on the Xbox and I was constantly getting very nasty messages from other players saying how bad I was!

No matter how much I practice I always struggle at wave 3+ on solo bronze BUT if I game with my son I can normally extract on bronze provided I get revived lots because I’ve used all my medigel!

Stupid thing is, I wouldn’t allow anyone to talk to me like that in real life but I’m so cautious online.

Arrhh…. I can’t flipping remember what my point was now….I’ll update the post when / if I remember!!  Image IPB

You should play where you feel comfortable, and ignore what people say...

Just go into cover a lots. You will notice a straight increase in survivability. Make it your rule to NOT do anything unless you have full shields. Also bronze is free for everybody, just chime in and have fun. :)

Dont let some d*cks tell you how to play a game. It is a GAME for heavens sake! Its supposed to be FUN, not source of frustration or shame... If someone is telling you to stop playing or to rush up to higher difficulties, tell them to go f*ck themselves. No one has the right to tell you how to play.

There was a thread a few days ago asking about people with 700+ hours played (people who play on higher difficulties and are really good). It asked how they found enough time to play and reading all te responses made me a little ill(I also have over 700 hrs). The vast majority were unemployed/in between school or job/had nothing really going for them in life. It was really sad.

The next time someone calls you a loser for being bad at a video game feel free to laugh at them and/or pity them.

I'm actually pretty sure that the people who actually invested 700+ hours into the game aren't those who would put others down.

It's IMO more likely that people with very little playtime keep bothering the rest of the players. Before they switch to another game and proceed to do the same.

40+ here too. I play for the fun of it, and because it's enjoyable to play with others. I do prefer to play with my friends, but when they're not online or available, I surf the lobbies until I find one that I can stick with for a while; or solo otherwise.

Don't let some morons spoil the fun of the game. If you don't want to play with total strangers, try and find some friends from in here, or ask for friendship from people that you randomly found on a lobby but played well together.

It does seem that you're on xbox, but if you're on PC perchance feel free to add me as a friend: my ID is x-pan777 and I have no problem doing bronze/silver/gold on any faction, or helping with challenges; that goes for everyone in here.

Dont give up Smeckie, you play whatever you want I also only really play bronze and silver, have been since the game come out, I dont go beyond silver mainly because I dont enjoy it, as it seems most of the randoms I come across on Gold arent team players, on another note I hit the big 40 in less than a month

I like to play and not hinder my teammates, but lately I've been thinking about quitting since I guess I'm playing on lower difficulty Lvs than I should be.

You should play exactly the way you enjoy playing. If that involves not being an ass that jacks a free ride from a team of people on a difficulty you normally do not perform well on, then by all means, you are a better player than most people.

Do not let anyone tell you otherwise.

Quit or take a break if you dont feel like playing. It can soon enough become a 2nd job to sit and grind credits all evening, so doing something else may be nice for a change. But do it if you want to, and not because some idiot kid wants to internet-thug-bash you.
