You were far from carried IMO, you still played very well despite rust, connection, and lack of good equipment. You still used whatever you could when you could and you will get more as you play more, so why not help if you have any? If you are legit out it is different, you can't help the store not giving you any aside from getting Jumbos (which everyone should invest in on occassion at least).
Haha, I was kinda joking about that. Pretty happy about most of our games yesterday. I did try to work around what I had a lot of, but most of my old favourites like AR Rails, AP Ammo and Power Amps were at about 2 or 3, and I also wanted to unlock new stuff. As much as I hate slow progress, I'm probably gonna have to stick to SPs instead of PSPs.

If I can get some people together at a decent timethat we can all be on sometime soon I wouldn't be against running some Platinum to help you get some quick credits. I am sure there are more than a few people only my list that wouldn't mind some fairly quick runs for those credits. That nets you 1 PSP and 1 JEP per game, figure about 15-25 min games if none of us are going for any certain challenges and run U/U/P..
UEG Donkey wrote... Yes, it's possible to top the scoreboard and not pull your weight, reactor reapers is fairly easy to clear in 20 minutes because of its size and ease of controlling spawn points. I've seen solo runs on gold go 20 minutes --> here's an example
A top tier player with better equipment and much more skill than me or anyone I've PUG'd with is some kind of evidence? I'm pretty sure even I could get a sub-20 minute Gold match if a Stentron was on my team, however they're far and few between.
Sorry for Necroing this thread but I wanted to check back on it after the holiday and for the sake of people reading this afterward your (OP) point is that it doesn't matter if an average gold player uses consumable equipment on gold that it will not affect your average completion time and in fact you've never finished a gold game in twenty minutes and reject the notion that that is an average time for players that are part of the BSN.
In rebuttal I post a video of a player soloing gold in twenty minutes while using equipment and you dimiss this as evidence on the basis that he's using equipment. You realize he's only got one gun, right? with a team of four using equipment you are going to be able to clear much more quickly. In summation you aren't bad for not using equipment but if your goal is to max your Rares and UR in the fastest time possible you should use equipment.

Average is 20 minutes, that's the consensus of BSN, disagreement is dilution on your part
not true....avgs for public games goes:
bronze - 15 silver - 20 gold - 25 plat - 30-35
I said average for BSN not the general public, anyone posting on here is a part of the BSN I'll pll this if you want
So you post a video of a player soloing gold in 20 minutes with equipment. Which could have been before any number of nerfs/balance adjustments. The only conclusion which can be drawn is "this was a good player, using a high-DPS class with a high-DPS gun." Every other assertion you make is baseless and unsupported.
If you want to assert ANYTHING about the efficacy of equipment, then you'd better have a control. The same player needs to solo Gold on the same map, with the same build, sans equipment/ammo several times, and their best time uploaded. The repeats and best result are required because youtube uploaders have a huge self-selection bias, and tend to only post their best/cleanest/fastest runs.
In short, I'm sure all of that went over your head - but basically nothing you said means anything.
Regardless, I never said equipment wouldn't reduce the match time, what I said was I can now achieve the same output (whether that be speed, points, survivability, what have you) without equipment as I previously could with equipment. I'm aware that I could continue to reduce my time by using equipment, but since I don't have the equipment my whole point was I'm not going to stop playing Gold and buying PSPs just because the matches are easier if I waste money buying JEPs for equipment.
As for Stentron's video, when I say he uses better equipment I mean he literally has stuff I don't have, such as a Claymore X and Stronghold Package IV. He's also using Armor-Piercing Rounds III and Cyclonic Modulator III, of which I have one of each. The main thing though is he's 10 times better than me and no amount of equipment I can use is going to make up for that.

I posted a video in response to a statement from OP that Gold matches take at least 26 minutes on average regardless of use of equipment. Whether he used equipment or not is of no concern because the point was that equipment use dosn't matter so it shouldn't matter that the player in the video used equipment. The point OP made was that Gold matches take between 26 minutes or longer he even bragged about finishing Reapers gold on Reactor in a little over 26 minutes.
Nor does it matter when as far as nerfs buff as concerned as the point I was countering never mentioned that typical times for gold matches went up after a particular nerf or buff to faction, weapo, or kit. Its completely irrelevent to our discussion why you choose to bring it up is beyond me.
What is probative evidence is that a team of BSN players using equipment can on average completion around 20 mintues this is supported by a video of a player soloing gold in 20 minutes and I know this is reaching if one person can do it in 20 minutes I'm making the assumption that four BSN players finish it faster or just as fast. This refutes the point that matches are typically 26-30 minutes regardless of equipment.
I also like how you're talking down to me but your writting is so weak you have to use the caps lock key to get your point across. Where you taught that is an effective writting technique?

You still aren't addressing the point that if you spend 33K on JEP six games you can shave five minutes off each game. That pays for itself so I don't think you bad because you don't use them its not smart from an efficency standpoint. What is your wipe rate on Gold by the way?
I would say my success rate on Gold is around 90%, that's accepting wave 10 objective completion as a success, not necessarily extracting. I'm talking about Gold PUGs though, I did wipe on wave 8 of a Gold solo this morning, hope that doesn't count (although I did lose a Cryo Ammo III and a Power Amplifier III).
As I said before, I can play maybe one or two games at a time, so shaving minutes is immaterial to me. Also there's no way our match goes five minutes faster if I put on consumables, maybe a minute.

I'd have to agree with najzere. There's no way one person using equipment is going to shorten the length of the match by 5 min. That sounds more like the diffrence between the whole team using equipment and the whole team not using equipment. Besides, one JEP isn't going to give you enough to last 6 games.

Of course, since you admit in the first post you only buy PSPs and nothing else. It's only normal you don't have many consumables...
I kick pugs that don't use consumables, so yes I'm talking about pugs that equips consumables

Since I started this thread I've used equipment in every match I've played and my fastest match was the 26 minute one I posted. Some of those matches had everyone using equipment and some were just me or just me and one other guy. We wiped on only one match (London/Collectors/Gold) and everyone had on equipment in that match. To be fair, we all had equipment on in the 26 minute match as well. Except for the match we wiped on, I didn't come in last in any of those matches either, and always exceeded my 80K benchmark.
The reason I post all this is because I can only go off of what I personally see when I play. Although I wholeheartedly believe sub 20 minute Gold matches are possible, even with PUGs, I have simply never experienced it—not even close actually. So while I appreciate you trying to help me finish matches quicker, I've given your strategy a fair chance and did not experience the results you claim. It's no fault of yours, I can only play the cards I've been dealt.

This has been my experience as well. Generally I have found that compared to the skill level of the players, equipment doesn't factor i.e a team of bad players isn't going to do significantly better if they are all using equipment and a team of good players will still do well regardless of whether or not they use equipment. On the rare occasion that you happen to find a gold lobby where all the players are good and using equipment you can get some fast gold games done (even given these circumstances I have never gotten a game done in under 20 min) Based off of this experience, the strategy I like to use is to never play the first game in a lobby using equipment (I do break this rule as a courtesy if I'm the only one not using equipment) and then, once I know I'm playing with competent people, I'll use equipment on each subsequent match in that lobby.

Fair enough, I don't think you're being bad, I simply think you could get more utility out of using equipment and choices to play with people only using equipment. I nuke wave 9 nine spawns with friends and with PUGs and that cuts down on quite a bit of time but I can afford to so because I'm getting Cobras in PSPs and in JEPs. Once you start getting level IV ammo and Cyclonic Modulator IV in your PSPs I imagine you'll start equiping more.
1. Invest 200K in VET and JEP packs to get started (It's ONLY 2 PSPs!).
2. Start using equipment and become a faster, more daring player.
3. You should end up playing more games (in around the same time you allocate now), gaining more creds and realizing your aims faster, while not risking annoying others by not equipping up.
4. Profit!
At most I have an hour to play at any given time, so unless I can cut a game down to around 18 minutes, shaving time is not a motivation for me. I know 200K doesn't sounds like a lot to some of you, but as you say it's two PSPs, or four rare cards, which is all I'm after. I'm going to have to start buying some other packs here in a week or two when my medigels run out, so I'll have some equipment down the road.
