Sorry for the confusion, I am talking about equipment (Ammo, Armor and Weapon consumables) not in-game consumables (Medi-Gel, Missiles, etc.). Changed the title to reflect that.
Okay, well now I do feel guilty. I probably won't start putting on equipment, but I will feel bad when I don't now. Thanks everyone!
People like you are why pugs suck... greedy, cheap, totally happy with minimal contribution.
You are bad, should feel bad... and should buy 6 JEP with your next 200k.
Honestly... if you want money, you should be playing Platinum with friends. That's how rares/ultra-rares get maxed out... doing it by playing Gold takes forever.

There's absolutely no reason to not buy JEPs even for someone who is still leveling up his rares. Two Gold games with extractions will net you 165k credits IIRC if you had good times on objective waves, which allows you to buy 5 Jumbos.
I'd stay the Hell out of anything other than Gold/Geth/Firebase White games until you max your rares, and play on Silver the remainder of the time, because, you know, you are cheap.
"Absolutely no reason not to buy JEPs" - so, your definitiion of absolutely no reason is - since we're talking about Gold here - sacrificing half of one game's credit intake, or about 1/3 of a PSP? Remember you have to do this farily often, because while you get a decent number of consumables in a JEP you are NOT guaranteed to get the ones you want or need; it's random just like the rest of the store. Absolutely no reason? I think not; more like "so long as you don't mind a 20-35% credit/time tax, which I'm willing to pay thus SO SHOULD YOU!" I'll thank you not to speak for me, and hope you never hold public office - though you'd fit right in.
I value my time, and enjoy playing the game but my goal right now is maxing URs. I only buy PSPs. Ever. They are the best deal in average credits / UR. Contrary to your statements, anything ELSE is a waste of my credits and (by extension) time.
Do I have equipment? Yes. I used up my lvl I and II consumables on Gold before Platinum existed, so it's all level III and IV, and it is NOT for Gold. I will use consumables in any match (rockets, ops packs, gels if necessary but shouldn't be) as needed, but you won't see me with more than Gear equipped in a Gold lobby. Platinum is a different story.
And, equip-less, the scoreboard will look like I was carrying the team. Unless I'm on my Volus, where the score isn't the point and neither is his personal damage.
This entire movement is a sort of reverse-elitism of entitled or mathematically-deficient people wanting everyone to play the game their non-optimal way, when it's not necessary. If most people did use equipment on Gold, I think you guys would be saying "There's no reason not to be using equipment on Silver..." and the arguments would be equally fallacious.
People like you are the ones that make random PUGs unbearable. Using worhtless consumables like Cryo rounds I and hitting ready on Gold, and then throwing out the "BUT I'M GREAT MANG" excuse. You are the elitist player here, not me. I'm not the one who refuses to use stuff to help the team. You are, and you drag them down. 2 Gold games will take an average of 40 minutes, less if you are proficient with your team and character, prolly 25 or so in Glacier. I started playing AFTER the introduction of Gold, Platinum, Gear and stuff, and still managed to amass a decent ammount of consumables because, you know, I'm not an elitist ****** who loves being carried while self-proclaiming he's so good he doesn't need s**t on Platinum to solo it. I buy Jumbos regularly, like any good player does when he's running short on stuff, max rares/URs or not.
But go on, store those consumables forever. You dabess and you don't need consumables. Like this guy in here, who has actually reasons for not using stuff (he is short on it), even if they are weak. 5 jumbos will give you a ton of stuff, whether it's lvl. I or III, and good stuff too. Even if you don't have amps, there's always Vulnerability for headshots. You don't have lvl. III and IV ammo? Use lvl. I and II warp, AP, Incendiary, Phasic. No CycloMod IV? Use Shield Power Cells I or II. People who only buy PSPs are known to be bad and always run short on consumables for this very reason. Good players always advise on buying JEPs and Spectre Packs to get loads of consumables. And if you've been playing since the start? Even less reasons to no use consumbles. Chances are you have humongous ammounts of them. And you give me this pathetic excuse? Please.
You are also bad and you should feel bad, and there's ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO NOT USE CONSUMABLES ON GOLD AND PLATINUM. Not even in Silver, with the loads of lvl I and II stuff you must have. I won't carry your elitist ass.

fixed because all opinions are, by definition, subjective.
Edit: on topic, this is a team oriented game so, unless you're soloing, if you have consumables (lvl 1 or 2) but decide to hoard them (maybe to resell them later in ebay, I don't know, really why anyone would do this) you are showing no commitment to the team, which includes no md or missiles when needed and that is bad.
That being said, I would not kick you for it. I would be suspicious of you before the first match starts, but I would not kick you.
TLDR: read bolded words.

typically though I play a Destroyer and I don't care what anyone says, with a Sabre X and a Piranha X I don't need to equip anything other than the weapon mods and stronghold package for a Gold round
but like I said, depending on what class I am playing or weapons I would, I think its more about having a setup you are that confident in
on platinum though, hell yes, sprinkle that equipment everywhere

If in a lobby there are three ppl with all gear up and one does not put any this is a sign of disrespect in my opinion...
and is really just my opinion....
Then you can be god and rock gold with a hornet.... so be it

Don't have any pics, but the last game I played was Reapers/Gold came in second with 100K+ working on my sniper challenge with my Javelin II. If I wanted easy money, I'd go play a Rio/Platinum game. I agree I am selfish, but I'm not looking to be carried. I just want to maximize my gold cards in my limited playing time.xlxkxcc wrote...
Post some pics showing you can handle gold without them then I have no problem. Until then I consider you being selfish, wanting to be carried and get easy money.

Obliterating the scoreboard, helping with all objectives and reviving allies as needed and not going down often are all good indicators on if you should be using consumable gear or not.

as it pertains to me: i'll give anyone a chance in the first game we play together no matter what they use/equip/etc....cause everything can be used in this game to beat it, so it comes down to how you are on the sticks....if you contribute without using things, cool, and we can run all day...if you dont contribute, as long as you change your approach/learned your lesson, cool....if you try to run again and still dont equip up, not cool, and you get a kick vote from me...

Of course you don't. People that don't put on equipment, and only score 80k in gold games don't get friend requests because they are mediocre. It's even more sad that you're happy being totally mediocre.

did you use equipment the game we played together? dont remember
Yeah I did, because I knew I wouldn't be contributing much with the kit I was using. If you recall, we started on a Silver match and the host changed us to Gold. If I'm not good with a certain kit I'll just go to Silver where it doesn't matter, or use my equipment (that's what my little equipment is there for).
Absolutely, I wouldn't take it personally if I did get kick votes for not putting on equipment, that would be totally my fault. No one seems to care though...

Because you feel it's fine to be a subpar team member... this makes you less than desirable, hence, no friends.
People like you are just a few notches above leechers...

silly internet memes are silly internet memes
Player skill greatly ranges. I often do pugs, and I see many players do well with no consumables and many do poorly with concumables, so it doesn't matter to me if they use them or not.
So, Freedom of association and all that.

Read the first page...
80k in a U/U/G is subpar... everyone should be 100k+, Volus not included.
The fact that you score 80k does indicate you have some skillz.... but instead of trying to do more/be better, you're happy with mediocrity. It's your willingness to gimp yourself and your team that is reprehensible. This is not respectable.
I'm going to get on the road now... check back in an hour.

No it's not......... It sounds like you've set an unrealistic standard for the general gaming populace. I've had games against the Collectors on Gold where everyone was at around that mark, score wise. Beats me why this happens, but calling someone subpar is absurd. That score sounds fine to me.

To answer the question, yes you should feel bad. No consummable equipment whatsoever sets off red flags in my book. It shows a lack of commitment to the match and indicates that the player is also out of medigels and rockets.

also using equipment makes the game go faster, even when someone can do without a rail amp 1 it is like 10% or 15% more damage, so in theory you/we would kill things 10% or 15% faster than without equipment.
so if you/we are using euipment and theoretically completing matches 10% to 15% faster then it adds up to more games per hour.
i say 10% or 15% because i dont remember which and dont feel like looking it up at the moment, nor does it really matter as im still making my point.
not that speed is the biggest concern in the game, but to me lingering in one mission for to long it starts to feel like a chore and starts losing value in fun the longer it takes.
but like i said thats just me, but since the currncy argument was used, i used the speed angle for argument sake, let alone the faster you can kill increases the teams success percent.

dont agree with that....scores are affected by so much stuff in the game, 100k+ is not a realistic standard for everyone on a team to have

i still start the match anyway, because i already have a full manifest and just assume that they are just another random i have to drag across the finish line.... again.
so if i was the OP, i wouldnt use terms of how many kicks as a judgement of if people like it or not.
the only way you could find out if people like it is by asking on the mic, but if you do ask you are already feeling a bit guilty in my opinion. thus if you are feeling guilty for asking then deep down you know that you are a hinderance to the team.
but like i said this is just my opinion, take it with an open mind or do whatever.
