Yeah true, and I don't mind extracting at all, especially now that I know it goes toward challenges. I just don't spend consumables like rockets or gels on wave 11. I crunched some numbers early on and determined it wasn't worth spending consumables on, but it's a nice boost if I do happen to extract.Koenig888 wrote...
btw you do get credits for extraction.

Yes you are the a bad person, and you represent the worst in team mate for a team game. You and those like you are the main reason I leave a lobby. You and you kind are those who leave in the middle of a mission, and make the mission take long longer than it should.
A Samuel L Jackson quote comes to mind when I come across you kind in ME3, and there are many like on to you. I make no effort to save such team mates, I consider them as cannon fodder, and distraction for the enieime how ever brief there time in actual play.
LOL!
It's all good gamer, but when it comes to the team and 30 minutes to hour of game time, "If you in for penny, you in for a pound." Use eqiupiment FTW!!

Like I said, I haven't seen any change.
As I told you before, observe the difference between everybody using equipment and nobody using equipment and you will see the change. Viewing things the way you are viewing them is a selfish point of view.

Also my Gold games don't seem any slower than when I used equipment, they've always been anywhere from 25–30 minutes for me.
Of course not, because you're only thinking of the direct value to you of using equipment. This is exactly why people say not using equipment is a selfish act.
You use equipment, it shaves a couple minutes off the match. You only saved a couple minutes, so you think "Hey, that didn't do much. For me." You're not counting the fact that it also shaved a couple minutes off player 2's match, a couple minutes off player 3's match, and a couple minutes off player 4's match. Overall time saved across players is very good. And if you all do it, you all give each other that time savings, it adds up, what would have been a normal match for all of you is now closer to a 20 min match because you are all using equipment. And you all get more credits per time in the long run.
But if the other three use equipment and you don't, you saved maybe 5 minutes due to their expenditure, and gave nothing back to them. Good for you.

I turn on my mic all the time... and drop it on the floor. Too bad this game does't have a mute option.metaempiricist wrote...

so yesterday you said you didnt feel like a hinderance, but here you are admitting that you are.
basically you have just announced to everyone that you are the worste teammate to take into a game, even tho you claimed your skill level makes you not require equipment.
you said you didnt use equipment because you wanted to save credits, but in doing so you actually make yourself and anyone stuck with you make credits slower.
so where is the logic in that?
i use to start games when someone didnt have equipment on, but this whole thread has just convinced me to kick every single one of you players "that dont care about the team", just for the simple fact you are only proving with this thread that those that wont use equipment are really just leechers and dirt bags.
so i hope you land in my lobby so i can troll you with a kick, and get to read your threads of "why am i getting kicked? boohoo".
i guess everyone needs 5 mins of fame, but most people dont want that fame to be about how they are a dirt bag, but i guess you enjoy this type of thing...
also im glad you have your HQ linked in your sig so everyone who disagree's with you can kick on site.
funny thing is i actually have a note pad on my desktop, with 2 catagories, 1 for good players i meet and 1 for dirt bags. i will let you guess where im going file your name.
enjoy thinking you "got the best of everyone", when it is in fact everyone else that is laughing at you

if you play decent you don`t need to use them..
but the chance is people who don`t use consumables very often literally suck in gold/pug game.
And no matter how good you are, consumables will make you even better..
so it`s kinda no brainer to use it if u have enough of them.
Use it or not, nobody can do anything about it.

I still won't use them. I played the game since the release of the demo, I can handle gold with a lvl 7 Infiltrator (though not solo the match). Without consumables!

I use them on kits that I don't think I will be able to pull my own weight with. For instance, I'm doing the sniper challenge right now and don't use my sniper rifle amps with my Javelin, but I do with the Incisor.Zoetropes wrote...
How do you not have hundreds and hundreds of Stabilization, Targeting VI, Shield Power Cells and Cryo I? Just throw on some pity equipment, cost of doing business.

Nothing has changed since yesterday, like I said before your definition of a "hinderance" is based on your perspective. My teams can usually do a Gold with minimal fuss. Where we disagree is that sub-optimal is the same thing as dead weight.Bolo Xia wrote...

Maybe you are taking this game a bit too seriously? You don't have to worry though, I'm on PS3 so we won't play with each other. Your tone is a bit different than yesterday when it sounded like we were just having a philosophical discussion. Hope your day brightens up friend!Bolo Xia wrote...

I use them even on bronze if I feel like being a "god-king" much less on Gold. And my own stable of weapons isn't lacking either.
Not using consumables isn't just cheap, it's being counter-productive to the team effort.

I'm not entirely sure about that. What happens if you max out consumables. Like having all of them at 255? Would that increase you chances for UR? Comparing the speed at which they increase, I guess you will have maxed out UR loonng before maxing out consumables, still wortha thought. Anybody got any experience on this front?

I've been in plenty lobbies where someone is using Explosive I on Predator III, and you know what? My instinctual reaction is, "he or she probably doesn't have anything better, good deal for being a champ and using it". I will then try to make their match as fun and and easy as possible. No consumables equipped usually leads to the opposite reaction; I won't back out of the lobby or anything, but I'll let the person fend for him- or herself.
Edit: Yes I've been in the situation described above, I maxed out my URs long before my consumables, but that's just a side-effect to weapons not "disappearing" upon use. When you have maxed consumables you still get them, they just disappear upon leaving.

Yeah that was my takeaway from yesterday, there's no real reason not to use equipment if I have it, so I did say I would stop avoiding putting stuff on I'm not specifically saving for a "bad" kit. When I run out though, I plan to keep on buying PSPs and not JEPs.Zoetropes wrote...
I can see not having many Incendiary IV, Shotgun Rail III and Cyclonic IV because you want to use them on "kits" you aren't strong with, or comfortable with. I do the same thing. But not just putting Disruptor I and Shield Power Cells I on because of some misplaced conviction seems pig-headed.
