EDIT: re-did the test when I realised I was downloading a game off Steam AND watching shows online.

I should probably be hosting more games with that upload speed, but it's a shared internet connection and it was 11.41 at night when I did that test.

There's also pingtest.net which may be more relevant to this topic.


Edit: to clarify - not posting this to brag, as you only need around
110kb/s download to play, wanted to highlight that the ping test is maybe a
better way to measure things.

Pretty much the crappiest connection you can get this part of the country but that's what you get when you live in a pos house that still has ww2 era copper wiring instead of fiber.

You just need to live in London. Cities in the UK (particularly London, Glasgow etc) have really great internet. He also might already have fibre optic wiring installed, as the UK was trying to roll out fibre optic broadband.

Test was done with myself as the only person online right now. Usually it is shared amongst three people so it can get really slow.

Stupid question but, since the EA servers are located in San Fransisco, should'nt we perform this test by selecting San Fransisco as servers to get the real ping? I may miss something, feel free to enlight me. I mean the bandwith is important, but the "real" ping is even more no? This way i have two wildly different results.

ME3 is peer to peer, but you are forced to maintain a connection to EA's servers while on host or on client.
