I have just bought a dagger at Ulgoth's Beard that is supposed to cast wraith form. (From a mod, probably dark horizons but not sure about that)
However "wraith form" is not a BG2 spell and hence it doesn't work.
Is there any way to make it work, and if it did, would it be overpowered?

What do you want it to do i.e. equip the dagger turns you into an Un-dead of some sort or it adds a spell to your abilities list... presumably allowing you to stop being un-dead at will?
What is wrath form... I assume something like the Druid Spider form?
A copy of the item file would help (post your weidu log) & yes we could get it working but I have no idea as to being overpowered... does this form have some weakness like double damage from fire weapons?

Wraith form is a standard BG1 spell that Xan has in his spell book. It makes you insubstantial and therefore difficult to injure, but also makes it difficult for you to injure others other than by spells.

As you will see from the log, no details are provided about Dark Horizons. The dagger is called "The Necro" and gives a number of spells: animate dead, skull trap, vampiric touch and wraith form.
When I tried to extract the itm file using Shadowkeeper, I was unable to do so. It said that it was unable to find the source of the file. It is called MACMDA01 presumably with .itm at the end.

As you will see from the log, no details are provided about Dark Horizons. The dagger is called "The Necro" and gives a number of spells: animate dead, skull trap, vampiric touch and wraith form.
When I tried to extract the itm file using Shadowkeeper, I was unable to do so. It said that it was unable to find the source of the file. It is called MACMDA01 presumably with .itm at the end.

I have just discovers that unfinished business restores the spell to BG2. Would installing that into my Tutu set-up restore it there also or would installing it cause problems?

Yes, you can just drop the spell file in to your override folder without installing all the UF... unzip the mod to a blank folder and copy/paste it from the ‘items’ folder. Then give it to your character with ShadowKeeper – or use NI to point the dagger to that resource.

Thanks for the input. Will do that. Then I will find out whether the modders who created Dark Horizons used the same file name for the spell as those who created Unfinished Business.
I've been thinking that since it was a first level spell in BG1, whilst useful, particularly for solo mages, it should not be too overpowered.
It will then be available to sorcerors as well presumably.
Looking on the web it seems that there was some discussion as to whether a sorceror should choose the spell in BG1 as it wouldn't be available in BG2.
Unfinished business rectified that.

Yes it is an interesting spell particularly for solo mages.
With that dagger I can cast it whenever I like.
Some of the other attributes of that dagger are a bit overpowered though. Unlimited animate dead for example.
That could be used to continually create skeletons whilst out of sight and just wear any enemy down. Only limit is that you can only have five at one time. Combine that with wraith form and you are pretty powerful. Dagger wasn't very expensive either considering how powerful it is

You're right of course.
Just opened the description of the spell and it says "removed".
That didn't stop me from writing the spell though.
Any ideas why it was removed?
