How Can I Best Dominate and Penetrate These People?

You see what happens is that I jump into a typical gold pug lobby and all looks well, we get in game and things go as planned. Until wave 7. At wave 7 it's like these people become possessed by sh*t gamers of turkey day past and they essentially wipe the team. On more than one occassion I'm able to save the game and get the credits for everybody. But recently my consumables are starting to dry up just a little bit and it's not that fun anymore.
Must I play with friends and friends only?

At least that's what I experience all the time with PUGs.

You know, synergy regarding playstyle rarely happens over the course of 20-30 minutes.
If everyone just quits the lobby instead of giving things another go it's a bit more difficult.
That's my approach at least and I can't complain too much.
If that does not do the trick...well, I think most people claiming they have to carry these oh so terrible randoms are somewhere between exaggerating and telling plain bull**** just to whine along with the bsn choir...
Which basically means, out of three players, there's got to be one who technically could also carry the team. team up with one of them and your hard work is split in half ;--)

You're going to need them to supply addresses.
Make sure it's consentual too, otherwise you'll
end up in trouble with the law.

Yes. You must play with friends if you want reliable people that don't go into full retard mode randomly and chain-dying like morons.

Seems to be true.
Sad but true.
I had to.

Talk while pugging. Sometimes people surprise
you and talk back. Then a dialogue begins, followed
by a bit of teamwork. If you finish this off with, "I'm
going to send you a friend request, just to help build
a list of people I can reliably play games with. Accept
if you like, if you don't want to that's okay."
If you can get at least one 'friend' into a pug I find your
chances of 'having fun' are greatly improved.

I play almost exclusively on gold too, was in the mood for a platinum b/c gold is too easy, and we STEAMROLLED that **** till wave 10, then all 4 of us got bull**** synced LOL. it was like a freight train getting derailed by a tulip man... =(
but since i ONLY pug i generally stick to gold, tho i was shocked that the platinum pug i was in was 4/4 great players

I have noticed the exact same thing. Usually on wave 1, 2 and 3 i am sometimes trailing behind on score. From wave 4 to 6 i start closing the gap, if there is any, and from wave 7 and on i've sometimes been carrying the same team that was pulling ahead in the beginning of the match.
As my performance through out a game is pretty consistent - its not like i suddenly pull it together and get all good @ wave 5, i've come to the conclusion that its must be the other players performance that is dropping mid game, and goes completely out the window around wave 7.
In a 30min game, wave 7 hits just short of the 20min mark - which is apparently the maximum attention span of the average pug'er.
Solution: Stop playing with people who have the attention span of a hamster.

Pugs can be terrible or awful, and you really can't tell beforehand - sometimes people have weird setups but work really well. Using the mic at least gives you an advantage - I've started turning it on for all Gold pug matches so If I can warn people or at least let them know if I can/can't revive. That said I've got really lucky recently and have ended up friending a few guys as they were such great players.
The only con is, sometimes when they talk back, and you end up in deeply unsettling/awkward conversations...and you have to leave very quickly post match lol

My opinion is,that in PUGs players think, that the other teammates are noobs and don´t care much.
