I don't know when exactly they stopped doing allied goals as I didn't play for the majority of the summer and autumn, but the last one I did had some guaranteed special in it IIRC (UR or Promotional, can't remember which). Let's hope it's something along those lines now.

The Return of the Allied Goal = it feels like a community event, like it means something, like it matters (for me at least) as opposed to a temp challenge for a promo weapon upgrade.

I think Allied goals are a great idea. Make players play a bit outside there comfort zone. I Play my Vorcha quite a bit but I really haven't given my Turians much of a chance until today.

It's nice. In the game where I did the challenge my Batarian Soldier was joined by a Batarian Sentinel, a Turian Havoc and a Vorcha Soldier or Sentinel.
