Weight/fitness sliders (one for each.) Might be an issue with armor, though.

Ability to make very thin, gaunt faces for men. Jawlines , even at the minimum setting, are almost always still too broad in most games to do this.

A wide selection of noses please. It's always difficult to find the right nose.

Pointy ears so we can headcannon as a half-elf (if only.)

1. Better lighting and shadow
2. More templates ( preset ) to work on.
3. More make up options, more breast variants and size, thigh, pelvis, Hip, butt and lower torso control for female.
4. New option to control actor's facial expression such as raise one eyebrow for surprise or curious look, body language and emotion.
5. Better conditional and execution operation to handle PC's acting in tracking past tragedy so that he/she doesn't smile happily and move on, 5 minutes after his/her mother die horribly. Make the PC memorize every past tragedies which could greatly influence his/her mood and personality throughout the game. Yes, stick that at Character creation in the form of personality template to work on narratively throughout the game so you don't suddenly change a moody-bitter-passive character into a clown, a jerk and a goody-goody friendly character in 5 minutes.

I also found the faces in Dragon Age 2 to be too chubby... No matter how much I reduced them... Anyone else noticed this?

I don't need any of that. When I have too much freedom in character creation, I can never get the look I want anyway.

That's too bad. You should polish your skill by training more, a little bit creativity here and there and some imagination. But nah...I doubt that would interest you.

Definitely.
My custom FemHawkes gave me the slight suspicion that Malcom was actually a potato.

Why bother with body tattoos. This isn't Saints Row. We're not going to be streaking and there's no benefit to walking around in our underwear. It only makes us more vulnerable to EVERYTHING, so no. Do not need or want.

Height and build customization is not absolutely necessary and allows for less finely detailed clothing and armor, since it has to be able to stretch and not look ugly.

Mohawks? Not something I'd use, but why not.

Eye colour? Sure. Heck I want options so that I can give my character heterochromia. That's this little genetic quirk:

I'd like to add another thing to your list.

  • More and better looking Beards.
Both games theres was only like 1 good looking beard. In DA2 the stubble looked terrible.

[*]While we're nitpicking, the stubble looked pretty bad in DA:O with certain colour choices.

"Character Creation"

Ohh, BSN finally stops talking about romance and fluff and starts talking about meaningful gameplay stuff like stat distribution, skill tree layouts, etc. I sure hope people won't mind a Realms of Arkania or a Darklands screenshot, those games had really involving and awesome Character Creation. Stuff like Temple of Elemental Evil or Neverwinter Nights 2 as well. Maybe I can refer to Jagged Alliance 2 since that's fun and I'm currently playing that game.

Oh. Mohawks and Eye Colours. Carry on.

okay on the purtee part something like skyrim would be good. with this engine no shizzle to put on some good workin char creation - appearance wise.

on the other part. so we play a human. he has no name yet. he is not >the champion<..
..so i guess we could put some good backstory as background.
arcanum did a good job on that.
sure way easier back in 2000 and late. but now we can put more backgrounds - we could call them origins 2.0.

and i would find it nice that they have some impact.

they could be a personality. like a special star answer noah and den.
they could be a special perk also. maybe a spell or melee attack with long cooldown.

they could even make a special quest.

and when there are only eg 6, it is not so difficult to make it happen.

and no
'purtee inked to hell elfbish' is no background. bangin all npcs in the game is no rp'ing.

and i dun give a fuq on my chars eyecolor.
i look at my chars when i play the first maybe 7h and am a bit mad that some things look awful in actual game not char creat. then i look when i have a new armor or such.

but in the end a game consits of
a)fights
b)quests

and c) dun forget c) playin a char. and the game experience changes a big chunk on that.
how often do you look in the mirror irl? do you rly think your life only depends on your face?
-if you answered the first question 'above 10times' and the last 'yus yus' i pity you.

[*]I agree. In some lighting though it did actually look pretty good. But in others it just looked like a blurry mess.

I don't mind the variety of options in the DA games, but I'd really love it if the sliders extended further in each direction. I don't necessarily want pretty PCs (and as it stands now, you cant' help but make a 'pretty' PC unless you're trying really hard not to) but I DO want unique looking characters, and the small variations the current sliders provide make every single Hawke look much like all the others (as evidenced by all the ME3 character avatars here on the forum).

Actually, I also wouldn't mind a colour-spectrum slider for both hair and eye colour. Or maybe two - one for base colour and one for highlights. And maybe skin colour as well.

Also freckles.

And swishy pony tails.

And ritual scars (though not if they don't fit the lore)

And progressive or 'earned' scars Eg. everytime your PC falls in a battle, the game adds a random permanent scar to the face/body. (Although those aren't strictly a CC concern)

And please don't go crazy with skin pores.

Huh... Guess I'd like more than I thought.

More eye colors sure

Height and weight would be a godsend but impossible really in their tiny little characters.

What i really want is more voices. Everything from James Earl Jones to Lacey Chabert.

Meaningful gameplay stuff? Designing the way a character looks is very important to a lot of people, as shown by countless appearance mods on nexus and threads on the BSN where people post pictures of their custom Hawkes/Shepards/Wardens/what-have-you. It might not matter all that much to you and it's fine to want more threads regarding stat distribution and skill tree layouts, but dismissing other people's interests as ~meaningless~ because they don't match your own is rather unnecessary, isn't it?

I hope we get better character creator tools.

I have not been able to create any kind of good male character in both dragon age or mass effect games so i always use default males or like in DA2 do not play a male character because i do not like the default male Hawke.

Creating female characters is easier and better but still not good enough so hope we get a better character creator for DA3.

I say yes to all for op.

Don't pointlessly restrict access to most of the best stuff.  With a mod that unlocked various options character creation in DA2 was much improved.

edit: and bring back the Theirin nose for men.  That was a cool nose, and the DA2 noses were much inferior.
