I also found the faces in Dragon Age 2 to be too chubby... No matter how much I reduced them... Anyone else noticed this?

Yes. I hate the CC in DA2, never been able to create a hawke I'm fully satisfied with.

Same with ME3 actually... really hope they get it right..

I want to be able to save/export my creations in the CC. I like to play around in the CC just for fun and once in a while I make really good Hawke that I want to save for a future playthrough. But it is difficult to recreate a look without an export function, like in DAO, or a face code. I am hoping for one or the other in DA3.

Also, to make it more easy to create new faces just for fun, I would prefer to create my chracter before the start of the game. It is annoying to play through the intro again and again..

Other features that would be nice are better (and darker) dark skin colors, better hair styles (preferably without braids..) and eye colors that doesn't look like heavily colored contact lenses..

This is certainly true.  At the very least, an auto-save just before character creation (like Skyrim does) so we can go back and create a character whenever we'd like.

I would like for the backgrounds to not be so friggin dark to the point where I can't actually see what my character is going to look like in the actual game. This causes confusion with skin tones and eye color for me. It'll all look one way in the character creation screen, and another in the actual game, one with better lighting.

Also, a close up on the eyes when you're selecting what color you want for them. This was especially a problem for me in Origins.

Main thing for me is another Mirror of Transformation. I've started a lot of games in both DA* and ME* and stopped because my character looked wrong in a camera angle that I didn't look at in creation. Often times if just needs a bit more cheek gaunt or a bit less chin protrusion to "fix" the problem but when you can't edit your character then you are stuck.

Yeah, I wasn't too happy with the CC in DA2, so I just stuck to the defaults (which looked great btw).

I'm just hoping for something a bit more "robust" I guess is the right word.

Either that or really good default/preset faces.

I would never play a male protag in DA3.

Height and build are not going to happen.

Allowing players to alter them would screw up a lot of animations. Other games can do by sacrificing quality elsewhere...basically by having low-quality animations.

More everything of course, is always good to see. I personally hope with the new engine we can also have a better CC? One thing that always bugged me in particular was how having any beard options locked the jaw and cheek formation because the beards were supposed to be plastered on top (and if you actually looked at the right angle you can see the space between the skin and the facial hair). I would like to see some improvements with this so we can choose a beard option and still be able to tweak around the jaw, chin, and cheeks.

BioWare used to let us choose build.  It's worth examining whether losing it got us anything equally valuable in return.

This. You wouldn't believe how many times I tried to create a proper Green Arrow in DA:O!

I really would like to make my charater look more deformed looking in this one. In 2 my charater looked like a blond Gerard Butler. Which i felt worked well with how i set him up as a heroic family man,

As for 3 I plan to be a reaver if the spec remains and i want him to apear ugly and unnatureal looking.

Simple shoulder length hair that doesn't have a massive fringe or looks too girly. A hero shouldn't need to spend hours on her hair, I actually only liked two of the hair designs from Dragon Age 2 :<, and only one from Origins :<.

Also, the ability to look good without make up. Wanderers and adventurers can't really put make up on because there's no morning toilette.

I want the female faces to have decent textures that do not make them look old. My Hawke's face is made out of clay. Or so it would seem.

Now that you mention it, I sort of want something opposite. The times I've wanted to make a lady Hawke who didn't look really, really young I've had to scrap the idea as the only skin texture that was appropriate to use was the same as Fenris' and made her look like she had a five o'clock shadow. If I could make a character that looked somewhat like, say - my Breton in Skyrim - I'd be very happy.

I think build is important when creating a character. Height somewhat too. It is a role-playing game after all and a person's hopes, dreams and fears are very often tied to their physicality, or their physicality is a result of their experiences.

Longer hair, all of the hairstyles from DAO+DA2 available and the return of The Mirror of Transformation (or something similar to it).

I need that mirror. It let's me tweak until my FemHawke looks right, and allows me to alter the apperance of Hawke throughout the story. Short military hair when she just left the military in the beginning and a noble hairdo in the end when she had status and money.

Please bring something like that back in DAIII.

Now that I look at Skyrim's Bretons I think we mean the same thing. Afaik, in DA vanilla you can either have an immaculate skin or look way too old. I didn't want my Hawke to have the same texture as her mother so it had to be the baby face. Something inbetween would be nice.

So, freckles would be great. Also, don't tie nose forms to certain presets.

I want less "normal"/boring hair styles. I want a mohawk, but not one of those huge ones. The one where the hair is pushed back on top, not straightened out.

I also want body tattoos.

Yes. I want a lot of customization, even if I have to buy DLC for it. Eye colors are easy to do, and I expect there will be plenty of them, but hair styles are harder to make. I hope Bioware will take the time to flesh out the customization though. After all, it's what makes their games so unique.

No.  Choices make them unique.  You wanna' see customization in an rpg?  Get Saints Row.  But that's exactly the level of costumization I want from DA3.  Like how you can pimp your ride?  I wanna' pimp my griffin!
