Disruptor is nice, stripes shields like clock work and chance to stun. Armor Piercing is nice though as you can probably forgo a piercing mod (I never used squad ammo on Garrus) on your weapon.
A lot probably depends on what class you're playing. On my Sentinal ammo powers wasn't a big deal for me since I had Overload for shield and I was detonating biotics to stripe armor fast.
In essence go with whatever feels better to you. A note is that the only armor you're going to run up against Cerberus is on Atlas' or Turrets. (Omega will introduce some more armor for Cerberus, but that will be for Omega only)

The reason I don't think they're going to add Dragoons or any other enemies that crop up in Omega to the rest of the game (outside of other DLCs) is because they would have to redo the fights, spawns, etc.
Now if they took on that task and did so I would be pretty stoked as Insanity starting at level 40ish or 50ish (I forget as I haven't been playing the SP in a bit) is quite weak and only certain fights truly gave me a challenge.

Disruptor is an all-around better choice when fighting Cerberus. And if you're an Infiltrator, you already have a skill to deal with armored turrets and mechs: Sabotage. If you see a turret or Atlas, your first action should be to immediately hack it.

Why not just play gold/platinum in MP.

Yeah, sabotage, stripe shields (rapid fire weapon squadmates or take Energy Drain bonus power), then if using a heavy sniper (Widow, Black Widow, Mantis, etc) Cloak shoot. Maybe toss an Incinerate if you have it before Cloak shooting. Armor will stripe real easy.
Some difficultly beyond Insanity would be pretty awesome for ME3 in the future.

At some point the MP servers will be shut down and all we have is single player. Plus the campaign is fun as well; it could benefit form another difficulty level.
