hmm not sure what ME2 missions you're referring to. And as I said, the Characters you come across in the ME1 side missions is what makes them enjoyable. Not the mission layout, obviously.AlanC9 wrote...

I seriously don't understand why so many people skip the side missions in ME1. I mean, besides the cookie cutter hide-outs, the characters you come across on some of them are just one of the many things that makes the first game better than its sequals. Helena Blake, confronting Nasana, Dr. Saleon, that d***head admiral, The Consort. And the origin side mission.
ME2 side missions are god awful and bland, and ME3's are just a round of horde on a multiplayer map.
Huh? The ME2 missions have interesting looks and different terrain to fight over, and who cares where the ME3 maps came from? It's not like the ME1 side missions were any less horde-y

Happy to see somebody enjoying the games, i'm awaiting the release of ME1 in PS3 to make a complete waltrough of the 3 games (also i think the EC makes the endings much better), i just love them, and be happy OP that you are having a good lifetime while others embrace desperation and hate, and keeps a constant and annoying rant everywhere they go (with the purpose, i believe, of make the rest of human beings feel the misery they feel... sorry, that's not working with me...)....

I do love Bioware as I've played nearly all their games from Baulders Gate, Dragon Age Origines, DA 2, Mass Effect 1 to 3 so just thought I would try SWTOR again but what a difference, Mass Effect 3 action to SWTOR lvl 1 sith and go kill 6 of these mobs lol, such a come down. Single player games for me at the moment. Think I have finaly kicked the MMO habbit

I'll be doing this once all of the ME3 DLC is released, that way I can play the entire story from beginning to end.

You will love the full Mass Effect 1 to 3. Doing them all together gave me the best experience I've ever had with video games. Also use extended version of ME3 ending.
I will admit when ME3 ending came on and the people who died in the series where shown I had lots of tears in my eyes. Very emotional ending but will remember it all for a very long time.

Yer know, I actually tried doing this a couple of months back. But the combat in ME2 was so clunky and repetitive, that coupled with the bland undeveloped plot meant I had to stop due to how boring it was. It feels like a chore to play now.

I too am in the middle of replaying the trilogy.
I'm around halfway through ME2, just before the Collector ship.
Something that really struck me about ME1 was how fleshed out the entire galaxy was. Every character in every side mission had a name and a different voice. Pretty much every conversation had an 'investigate' option and it was so immersive I felt like I actually wanted to explore every planet.
Somehow ME3 and to a lesser degree ME2 never fully captured that scope again..

Too bad they couldn't figure out a way of getting Miranda, Jack or any of the other ME2 LIs on the ship. Oh, that's right, Jacob got character assassinated, and Thane died.

Here we go again 10 months later and going to run through all 3 Mass Effects again, Mass Effect 1 will be my 5th time, 3rd for ME2 and 2nd for ME3. This time going to do all side missions as well. May also do Dragon Age origins again then DA2 but these will be my 2nd run through both. Can't wait for next Dragon Age game and then hopefully Mass Effect 4

Good for you! And especially for deciding to do the side missions. I can't imagine blowing through the games as fast as you claimed in your first post.
Others brought it up before, but I will here again. To save Wrex on Virmire, you either need to have a maxed out Charm or Intimidate skill, OR just take him along when you find his family armor. The only times I've ever lost him was when I deliberately killed him, because that particular Shepard didn't want to hear any talking back from their crew.

I did rush through the last time too quick but as I said I will be doing all missions and side quests in all 3 this time but was just thinking that while starting Mass Effect 1 and all excited to do all 3 again back to back, I have never felt like this for any other game. 5 times for ME1. I just love Bioware and Mass Effect (DAO a close 2nd)

This game is addictive. I'll be starting trilogy run number 6 real soon myself.
Hopefully you'll keep Wrex this time if you'd like. Ironically, I'm going to probably be a "likes humans only" renegade so Wrex has poor odds.

Yay, well this time just through the part where Wrex is killed/lives and managed to keep him alive. First time in all 5 runthroughs. Up to now I'm at 17 hours so this taking much longer and still loving it. Completing all the side quests but did a 100% playthrough 1st time I played it in 2008. (Xbox 360 version) but bought a PC version later as wanted to play through with better graphics (and then 3 other times) Side quests are all voiced too and like mini stories. Well worth running through 100%

All finished now, did every quest on 1 and 2. ME3 did all main missions and about 80% of side missions, just left all Citadel fetch quests. I got a great charm score so that made me get some good options that saved Wrex and Ashley Williams. At the end a ME2 I chose not to send anyone back with the crew that we saved on the collector base so they died but main characters all survived. Mass Effect 3 it was Thane who died and didn't loose anyone else but at the end chose left switch which gave me blue light and Shepard was in control of the reapers. But at the very end looking at the list of people who died and it showed Kasumi Goto and have no idea what happened to her. I loaded ME2 again and went to a save after the finish and Kasumi was there.
Overall loved every part of the games and will do my next playthrough 2 weeks before Mass Effect 4 is released, can't wait.

Doesn't Kasumi fake her own death in ME3?

This is the only games/series I have ever replayed. even KOTOR when it came out and blew my mind, I was only able to play once. There's just something about Mass Effect.
reading through your first posts from a year ago, i was going to say, what a barebones playthrough experience of the series you've had...and still somehow felt amazed by it, but it seems like you've now had a proper playthrough, though.
about 4-5 playthoughs of ME1 and I didn't even know wrex dying was a possibility. can't even imagine the game without him.
once i get all the ME3 dlc i'll be doing a final playthrough of ME1-3 with my first femshep. possibly sometime next year, close to ME4 release date. Might have to take some time off work, which just sounds ridiculous, but still.
side note: 2 years later(from when i first played) and i still can't finish DA2...I just can't get into it like DAO and feel utterly bored with it.

Yes last year I did run through the games way too quick. Although 1st time through ME1 and 2 I did do 100% of them and this time I was glad I rushed through ME3 as there was more new stuff to see. After I finished ME3 this time I just couldn't get out of the mass Effect theme, I tried starting a new game of Dragon Age origins but only lasted 30mins. started Me1 up and started my 6th runthrough lol, just cant get Mass Effect out of my mind

I know the feeling. Doing a run-through of ME trilogy again after trying again and failing to play Skyrim, Deux Ex: HR, GTA IV, Witcher 2, and Alpha Protocol for more than an hour.

I had just started another play through until I saw Dark Horse had a collection of "The Savage Sword of Conan" at my local comic shop............Damn. This series is bad a**.
I got to follow a couple issues back in the day but never from the first (08/1973). So who knows when I'll finish that play through.
