I had just started another play through until I saw Dark Horse had a collection of "The Savage Sword of Conan" at my local comic shop............Damn. This series is bad a**.

I got to follow a couple issues back in the day but never from the first (08/1973). So who knows when I'll finish that play through.

Ever read Robert E Howard's original Conan stories? That's the most badass **** ever.

Bits and pieces here and there. If I remember right that series started sometime in the 1930's.

The Savage Sword was writen in magazine format and wasn't censored like the comics were. I cant remember if the originial series was or wasn't.

Edit: The Conan from the 1930's was published through the magazine "Weird Tales". The originial comic started in 1970 as part of Marvel Comics.

Yeah, the 30s. He was Lovecraft's and Tolkien's peer. Just as timeless as they are. They made a good short story compilation not too long ago. Here. I remember my brother had some magazine sized Conan issues when I was a kid (in the 80s).. Maybe those were the same ones you're talking about.

I love Bioware so after finishing Mass Effect 1 to 3 I decided to play SWTOR, if any of you play that you can find me on The Red Eclipse server, my character name Firewyn. Graphics no were near as good but full voice over like ME, Playing a trooper as that was like my soldier run on ME

Honestly, I was happier with the series not ending ever than the ending(s) we got.

Don't need the ending to any series if it is going to be ludicrous.

Oh, by the way, aside from being the product of a racist, sheltered,  insecure man who was attached to his mother his whole life...and ended that life tragically...you cannot deny the impact the imagery Howard left that has been imortalized in Fantasy starting with artists like Boris and Frazetta.  That imagery is still being used today.
