I think it would be funny to throw in a random cameo with Vanderloo's Shepard.

Imagine having the protag discussing some battle strategy or some such with a few major NPCs, and in the background among the troops you see one guy with Vanderloo's face, wearing black armor with a red stripe down the right sleeve, gearing up for the coming fight.

Just a brief shot, none of the major NPCs in the foreground even acknowledging it.

We dont yell that in the Guard. Its more screams of death and "for the emperor"  while the commisars and shoooting at us if we are not moving fast enough.
