[Captain J. Sunshine]

I keep hearing about it being amazing, but I don't get what is so great about it.
Is it because it activates ammo on every hit?
Is it because it explodes?
is it because it's cool?

I just don't see it.

Tried it once ON BRONZE and I gave up on it.

It's just totally fun to use. It really is- although I now run around with an Acolyte which is packed up the maximum with pwn.

It's a decent sidearm but now that I have the Talon I see no point to using it, 'cept maybe for staggers.

Its ok if you shoot the ground infront of mooks but as a direct fire weapon it sucks unless your target is as big as a barn.

But hey to each their own.

The Scorpion is a utility weapon, and is actually the best at what it does.

If you're expecting it to perform in the same way as a Piranha or Reegar Carbine you're going to be very disappointed.

When I'm doing Unknown/Unknown I take it as a sidearm just in case I have to deal with phantoms/nemesis (I hate chasing them around) or I need some quick CC.

^^staggers just about every nonboss, perfect sidearm for close-range caster... Like paladin

Well it use to be pretty decent, but the acolyte is the better choice.

I use to always carry a scorpion for cc and phantoms, but it's not necessary for most classes now. I just shield strip with acolyte and let my powers do most the damage on a lot of classes.

True, but most just dont realize it and I have other weapons that I prefer to take along.

It was amazing until the Acolyte was released but I still think it's great, it's still really good at staggering large groups and leading enemies from around a corner or simply applying ammo effects.

As far as I understand it (correct me if I am wrong) but you dont aim to hit the target directly. Instead you spam it infront of them so they walk right over them and blow up. More reliable damage that way and plenty of CC when you need it.

Maybe because its at I? I have it at a decent level and for its weight its a fantastic weapon against crowds. You can basically staggerlock groups. On lone enemies its...yeah...ok. Not greak. Ok. It also trolls phantoms.

how do you utilize it?

It applies ammo to mobs, it decimates groups, stops rushing mobs, makes short work of phantoms, ect.
It's great at what it does but it is not a dps weapon, it is a backup / support weapon.
I ran it with a GI with warp ammo in platinum when I was leveling it up and had my friend with biotics spam BE, the result was a very easy platinum run.

Its one of the better Pistols, I actually finished the 200k challenge in 3-4 games. Very effective with Cryo or Disruptor Ammo.

Recon Mine + Scorpion on Glacier = LOL
