Meh I don't hate it. I don't like it, but its good when you catch a group a enemies spawning and you shoot the floor. One thing many people do with it ( and the acolyte) is try and shoot heads with it and its something thats mainly good for grouped enemies and floor shots.

You can very easily solo gold on small maps like glacier with N7 Paladin: scorpion(staggers)->snapfreeze(set)->scorpion(staggers)->incinerate(kaboom)->repeat

EDIT: Make sure you shoot the ground in front of enemies, NOT the enemies themselves.

The Scorpion is a utility weapon, and is actually the best at what it does.

If you're expecting it to perform in the same way as a Piranha or Reegar Carbine you're going to be very disappointed.

how do you utilize it?

Point and shoot at clusters of enemies as you would with any explosive weapon, obviously.

If you hit an enemy with a projectile, that enemy gets stunned. When it explodes, that enemy gets stunned again. If you hit the enemy with the mine, it's ammo effect is applied 100% of the time. (Protip: Explosive rounds also stun enemies) If you aim at the ground, the explosive will act as a proximity mine that is triggered by nearby enemy movement. It makes a joke of Phantoms, Hunters, Collector Captains, ect... but if you see armored enemies then that's when you switch to your other weapon.

It's pretty damn good on it's own because it turns any class carrying it into a CC machine, but if you use it with other CC abilities like Sentry Turret, Arc Grenade. Overload, ect.. you should be wiping out spawns, and singlehandedly defending objectives (hack/upload, escort)

1. Host
2. Shoot it at the feet of non-boss units
3. Crowd control.

The profit is somewhere along those lines.

Actually, nevermind, after reading your posts it's clear you won't understand anyway.

If you can't make the best CC weapon in the game work, then you're probably not very good at this game anyway and I doubt anything anyone posts here will change your mind

It is was one of the easiest masteries to complete ... on a GI (spam proxy mine and carpet bomb with the scorpion in between)... (works best vs cerb//geth) - less optimal vs reapers//collectors .

It's one of the best. It's spectacular for nuking spawns and tight corridors. A couple on the floor, a couple into the crowd, and if you do it right they all go off within a moment of eachother and an entire pack of mooks goes 'splodey. MUCH faster than the Acolyte can. The Acolyte's better at taking the shields off things with a lot of shields, but the Scorpion slaughters anything except heavies. Both will ragdoll Phantoms, but the Scorpion will murder Dragoons too, something that the Acolyte doesn't do very well.

Given that you don't seem to appreciate crowd control, the ability to trivialise phantoms and reliable ammo power application, i'd say this is a lost cause.

Because it staggers everything, applies ammo powers very well and does good damage.

It's basically like a Falcon that does more damage and weighs less.

The Scorpion rocks, even more so since they introduced ULM for pistols.

I keep hearing about it being amazing, but I don't get what is so great about it.
Is it because it activates ammo on every hit?
Is it because it explodes?
is it because it's cool?

I just don't see it.

Edit: I only have it at I so it'll probably get better

If you don't understand why it's amazing, you're not going to. It's the second best utility weapon in the entire game after the GPS.

Utility weapons are like multipower kit-capable chars. If you don't see an alternate means of utility, there's not really any point in wasting your time fumbling through, there are plenty of alternatives that are much more straightforward.

It's actually not as good on the lower difficulties like bronze because the enemies there die so fast.

if i recall the person who posted said something about moving on the sliver like 6 weeks ago, so i assume your are a sliver player? on to the point it one the best gun for caster i would use on my fury any day because it a great gun that can do good dmg and stagger all round and make me feel like im a geth prime, it a hard gun to use if you dont shot at the gun just before their toes, if you stick it on mooks then your doing it mostly worng

I'm doing the N7 mastery and have been promoting a lot. The scorpion is the weapon of choice for me on bronze and silver for any character. Once you learn how to control spawns, you can wipe out whole spawns with it in a matter of seconds. It's really good once you figure it out.

I like to use it on close quarter classes to stagger enemies while I'm meleeing them or casting powers. Its a safety net similar to the falcon (but better damage) and acolyte (better general damage but not the same shield damage).

One of my favorites is to use a human soldier specced for melee damage on adrenaline and fitness tree. Shoot the floor 5-6 times near a group of mooks, use adrenaline, charge in and melee them and whoevers left shoot the floor again. Even better if you have an ammo power, you can also throw frags into the ones left for tech combos. The damage boost from adrenaline makes its damage output much better for killing on its own, let alone the heavy melee that follows.

Paladin is another good class for this, or melee specced turian ghost.

I'm sure there are others

Okay, let me break it down for you:

1. It fires glowing balls that stick to people and explode.

2. It fires glowing balls that stick to people and explode.

3. It...you know what, nevermind. If 1 and 2 didn't convince you, nothing will.

Also good with Geth Engineer. I suck at aiming but find it very easy to stick enemies with the Scorpion rounds.(for sticking ammo powers then overload i know about the aiming at the feet thing) Also good with the Destroyer and Hawk and Frag Grenades. A near constant stream of explosions and stunning and explosions.

It staggers any mook with a body shot. It staggers whole groups of enemies if you pepper the ground around them. Damage ain't great, but it's by no means awful. Plus, direct hits auto apply any ammo power, making it quite good with cry or incendiary ammo. It also makes phantoms have to continually dodge, rendering them harmless. Or, for funs, fire a power at them, make them put up their bubble, then shoot bubble as they stand harmlessly. Explosions will kill the phantom. If you can't get on board with that, well... I dunno, go back to using the harrier since you apparently only value raw dps.
