Hi.  I am new to the toolset, and seem to be finding my way around it.

I'm working on a morph that I'd eventually like to use on a new male character.  I'm almost there, but I want to use a female hairstyle.  Specifically, I want to use a hairstyle from the "Additional Hairs for DA" mod.  I don't know how to get any female hairstyle to show up when using the object inspector.

I have tried copying the files from the appropriate folder and simply renaming them as a male hairstyle (for example, creating a new folder, then renaming the files from "hf" to "hm," and I do get the hairstyle, but it sprouts from the middle of the morph's forehead (the hair is set too low).  Changing this kind of setting is probably beyond my ability--I'm guessing it has something to do with changing the texture itself.

I've also tried another way: create a female head morph in order to get the hairstyle I want, then adjust the facial settings to make the morph look masculine.  I have not yet tried to use this morph on a savegame, as I'm still reading through the tutorials on how to do that.  However, I suspect I might have the same problem as above--that a female head might be set too low.

Please pardon my ignorance here.  I'm guessing that those veterans here will probably be able to guess at my (extremely limited) level of competence with the toolset (and with computer graphics in general).  Is there an easy way to do this?  (As a benchmark, my general level of competence with fiddling with a pc game is installing mods for Baldur's Gate 2 and a few of the more basic mods for DA: Origins).

Thanks for any help you can give!

Hair models can't be transferred between sexes (or races) from within the toolset. Because of the way DA models work, you would have to load the female hair model up in a 3D app like GMax/Max or Blender, move the hair mesh up to the appropriate height, scale the size up to match the larger male head proportions, reskin/reweight it to the male rig, then export it as a new model with the appropriate male naming convention. It could then be used in the toolset with a male morph (of the appropriate race). It's not an easy process for someone with no experience of dealing with character/animated meshes.

Thanks. I suspected it was beyond my abilities--you've saved me a lot of wasted time trying, and possibly saved me from breaking my game!
