I don't know what it is, but I just can't seem to create an attractive femshep, and it seems like most of you are having the same issue. I swear, we need somebody here who's an expert on proportions or something to make a thread explaining how to not get something that's 80% of the way there and ruined by poorly inset eye sockets or something random and weird.
Well, there's a lot of face types, and a lot of ways to be attractive. Actually, I think you might get farther if you try to create a Shepard that looks like a distinct person, rather than a very broad definition of attractive.
I don't want to present my self as some kind of expert, I just found I'm happier with the results when I approach it that way.
Some observations:
-The higher you place features, the longer the face will appear, and vise-versa.
- It really pays to play with the different head types, not only does it change the context features are in, it changes the features themselves, as does things like nose depth.
- Have a base understanding of ethnicity. You can take base shepard, give them the darkest skin, bigger lips, and they won't look like a black lady. The mouth depth, nose, jaw structure, eyebrow height-- those all matter, and contribute.
- A dynamic mix of features can be very striking. Soft with hard, big with small.
-Ask yourself: Does a person face actually do that? Ask this a lot.
For example, Gtacatalinas Shepards squinty eyes and wider nose contrast nicely with the overall roundness of the face, and lips. Moreover, everything looks like it fits together, and the color palate works as well.
