I'd say the clue's in the name, but people would think I'm making a jab at women in general, and not just the voice actors of the Shepards.

mShep is canon. They don't care about your headcanon.

He's the worst thing about Mass Effect. Even worse than EA.himohillo wrote...

People are gonna do this every time Bioware gives us a picture with Shepard on it aren't they?
They really shouldn't have put Shep on any of the banners and instead just used a nondescript human instead.

Considering that headcanon brings us things like the Indoctrination Theory, I'd side with the writers on this one. Personally.himohillo wrote...

Should've made one of them MShep and one of them FemShep. Easy peasy.

It'd be easier to count who doesn't. BioWare collect this sort of data.Sec-STG wrote...

...but every time this comes up, it turns into a highly feminist debate - AKA: the type of people who wouldn't care if it were FemShep on the banners, despite that being actually sexist. (As it is, the banners merely play to majority with the limited engine available)

Limited engine wha? They've already changed multiple banners on the fly, haven't they?

Noes...a fem shep banner would be incredibly sexist! Stop this at once!

OP, you've opened up a can of worms here, I'm afraid. I'm with you in that the banner should have a female option, but the fact that most of the promotional material to ME3 shows a male Shepard (never mind the trailers they made featuring femShep!) has a lot of people here convinced that he's THE canon character of Mass Effect and no other opinions are valid.
They should have either kept all the banners neutral, or rather just show some generic characters or included both male and female Shepard. This is a Bioware game, a game where our choices shape the course of the story, there should not be such a thing as canon, no matter what the trailers show!

Having a femshep with "Best of the best" would be contradictory.
Hell I say the Destroyer should be on there.

Because there are people who prefer FemShep - I play her exclusively - and as they finally designed a default femShep and even included her in a lot of their promotion material, it's kind of a letdown that the top MP banner, the one that takes hours upon hours to achieve, doesn't give you the option to display her. It's not the end of the world, no, but would it really be so hard to implement?
EDIT: Spelling
