It's simply about the fact both BOTB and LW banners should have a FemShep option or equivalent.
Both are cannon as far as the games go pure and simple.

You could threaten them all you want to no avail. Do you have any idea how many lawsuits were threatened concerning the ending? You could threaten BioWare with a lawsuit for sexism. They would, or would if they aren't dumb, change it because it's much cheaper. It's cheaper with a Photoshop job that takes ~10 minutes then pay a lawyer, even though they would probably win the case. Plus it would give then bad reputation if they don't change and anyone find it offending.
Yes the first person to fell in my trap of: "You really don't belive in people's intellect at all trap and think that everyone is retarded exept you". That show that you are a lesser intellect that fell for something that easy. Muhahahahaha.

No because Shepard is and will always be male. He started male, is promoted male, is male.
Hm, my savefiles tell a different story. They say Shepard has always been female. She started female, I've seen her promoted female (here and here for those who obviously prever to be oblivious), is female.
This is exactly the kind of reply I tried to warn the OP in my first post to this topic. For some reason a few people feel the need to come in and... I don't know... "defend" their version of Shepard (as in "male", not talking about custom appearance here), when no-one's trying to take it away in the first place. All the OP and others (myself included) are asking for is to include a female option for a banner, we're not trying to castrate anybody. Relax!
If a femShep banner were to be included, those who want one would be satisfied, those who don't want one lose nothing. I seriously don't understand why this always has to turn into such a critical topic.

OP, you've opened up a can of worms here, I'm afraid. I'm with you in that the banner should have a female option, but the fact that most of the promotional material to ME3 shows a male Shepard (never mind the trailers they made featuring femShep!) has a lot of people here convinced that he's THE canon character of Mass Effect and no other opinions are valid.
They should have either kept all the banners neutral, or rather just show some generic characters or included both male and female Shepard. This is a Bioware game, a game where our choices shape the course of the story, there should not be such a thing as canon, no matter what the trailers show!
There is no Shepard?

LOL I wish the bob banner and the lonewolf banner had Femshep in it and waited for the the **** storm on the BSN. You take these things for granted. What if it wasn't MaleShep, would you say something ?Ledgend1221 wrote...
Why is it always Femshep fans?
Even the Skyrim fans are better then this.
They never complain "OMG BETH! Why izint the girl lady dovawhatever in the trailer! U so sexist!"
I would not, because I have better things to do with my time (like this, apparently) and both of those banners are, to me, pretty crappy looking. I just want Hardcore...

This is so funny, I was just thinking about Garrus being a romance option only for femShep as I refreshed the page I saw your post.

What? It's not like I'm suggesting we replace the current banner with a FemShep one. We need either two distinct banners on a toggle (unlikely), or a banner that has both Shepards on it.
How about the option of adding a new challenge? For example an exact replica of Lone Wolf but with the femshep banner. It would mean having to do the challenge again though.

Making a new banner is probably not very time consuming if Bioware is making them for random weekend challenges. Compare that to making playable volus, something else it could be argued "only an extreme minority" wanted.
The male and female versions could both become available for selection when the challenge is done. No one would be forced to use a FemShep banner.
Not only female gamers will use them.
Female gamers are making up a larger portion of the player base every year. Currently 45% of gamers are female (per The Economist). Granted, most are playing Sims or Minecraft rather than TPS/RPGs, but Bioware is poised to attract a share of this increasing market just because they have strong female protagonists like FemShep and FemHawke. Having female versions of banners can only increase the profile of Bioware with "girl gamers" for a minimal investment of time.
And before you check my manifest, I'm nowhere near getting any of the banners in question. But having the option would motivate me to get them.

Also I dont think FemShep players are such a minority or they wouldnt bother recording dialog twice (not only for shep but for all characters adressing him/her) over 3 games.

The bulk of the game's advertising also depicts Shepard as male.
