I dislike beards so I didn't like the look of default male Hawke but default female Hawke was perfect.

Whatever they go with for DA3, i'd rather it not be like ME3. By that I mean....the default male looks realistic whereas the default female looks....cartoony. She looks like a cartoony version of the art people voted on.

As long as the DA3 main characters have the same kind of design, it's fine by me. As long as character creation is still good, of course

As far as character creation goes, a default PC doesn't matter, but for the purposes of a trailer, I really think we need a lightly tanned female protag. A black female is out of the question, it seems, so a female who is tanned will do. It's better than having ANOTHER male protag. with pasty white skin.

Something I loved about DA2 was that the character creator didn't show you a male character first, and give you the option to switch to female. Not having Male As Default was nice. It isn't often in an RPG character choice screen that you're presented with both choices and told to pick one, rather than being presented with male and allowed to switch to female.

Having Varric always telling the story of White Hawke initially even when you fully planned to make a non-white Hawke was pretty annoying, though. It's like, okay, why is Varric whitewashing Hawke?

Aside from those things - which aren't so much 'what I want' as 'what I don't want' - no preference, really. I rarely use the defaults, just because I like designing my own . Sometimes I use a lightly modified version of the default, but almost never default. So I don't really care how they look, because I'll almost certainly change it anyways.

Eh? Varric never mentions Hawke's skincolour.

EDIT: Sorry misread. Still, I think it's not really an issue. Varric's Hawke isn't MY Hawke after all.

For the male, no beard/mustache, no bloodstains for either sex. I didn't like female Hawke's nose, it seemed too large for her face. I never used the default characters, and don't see any reason for them to have any. It's much more fun to create my own.

A part of me kinda wants that they bring no default male or female character in trailers. Just custom ones. They could just put a generic character with his or her face covered in a helmet or whatever. The Dragon Age series doesn't really need to sell with poster guys or girls. All it needs is good writing, fun battles and lots of customization.
