This is not about the plot regarding mages, more gameplay related. So at the end of Dragon Age 2 , mages across Thedas rebelled and broke away from the Circle of Magi which was under Chantry supervision & enforced by Templars.
So does this mean mages can now utilize the full potential of magic ? Because under the Circle & Chantry, many school of magic were downright banned / restricted. So will we see expansions to these schools of magic : Blood Magic, Shapeshifting, Spirit Healer & Keeper ? Like more spells
Also because mages are now free to practice what they want could mages now indulge in really forbidden magic like Necromancy & Summoning. Necromancy - Raising the dead ; Summoning - Summon demons from the Fade ?
Also will mage hybrid classes make a return ? I loved playing as Arcane Warrior . It would be really nice to play as a Mage-Rogue hybrid as well...

While I'm sure there would be an increased number of mages practising blood magic to some degree, it's not like the mages are pro-blood magic/demon summoning/necromancy and it was the Chantry and its templars holding them back. And shapeshifting and keeper magic aren't knowledge the Circle had, so that would only make sense if they had some Dalish/Hedge mages joining their cause. By any means I don't think they're free to 'practice what they want', especially since that just detracts from the whole point of their rebellion.

First of all, only Blood magic was banned by the Circle. They had no knowledge on Shapeshifting, the abilities of a Keeper (who are Dalish anyway, so how would they have any real knowledge), and Spirit Healers are dime a dozen anyway, so...
Also, if the mages start using Blood Magic, Necromancy and the like, they'll only make more enemies.

There are mages who are very anti-blood magic (Anders for example and my mage Hawke) because of the demon situation. So my guess is that not all mages will want to practice everything.
In order for mages to have all or most of the specialisations they would have to learn them from apostates (like Morrigan) or other cultures (like the Dalish). The Dalish are not keen on Shems so they would not likely allow human mages into the fold.

No, you don't learn to ultilize the full extent of something so quickly. A lot of those schools banned are lost to all but small isolated cultures and they are not just coming back overnight if ever...
